How was your week and were any of you able to do anything special on the bank holiday?
I had a silly day, courtesy of my family. It was my birthday on Tuesday so by way of a celebration my daughter and granddaughter took my husband and me out on Bank Holiday Monday for afternoon tea..... but at the Pooh Corner cafe in Ashdown Forest where the idea of Winnie the Pooh was conceived by A A Milne, for his son Christopher Robin.
It was a lovely friendly cafe with a tiny museum dedicated to Pooh and friends, and then we roamed around Ashdown Forest seeking out the haunts of Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore, making sure to stop at Poohsticks Bridge to have a stick race.
It was a glorious day for weather too, so that capped off the day nicely.
Nothing's simple with my daughter and granddaughter. They are, respectively nearly 52 and 26 but Pooh bears were taken along to enjoy the adventure. It's a good job I'm pretty crazy too!
Other than that it's been a bit of a bitter-sweet week. For the past four and a bit years I've been chasing a diagnosis for a troublesome heart arrhythmia, and finally heard this week that it's what I always thought it was! It's atrial fibrillation as suspected so I just go on managing it as I always have. Nothing dramatic, but I do feel a bit vindicated as, at times, I felt as if no-one believed it was actually happening!
Hope your week went well and I'll look forward to hearing all about it!
And I hope the coming weekend will be a pleasant one too!
Belated birthday wishes,🍾🍰 sounds like you had a lovely day, who won the Pooh sticks race, what prize did they get
I've not had a great week, sister and I had a pub lunch, nice but chips needed a couple more minutes, otherwise we both cleared our plates, I had my osteoporosis clinic appt arrive, for a Wednesday and as I work every Wednesday I've tried to change it, cutting a long story short, the clinics are alternate Wednesdays only, so I'm back on the waiting list as I also need a DEXA scan on the same day, as salary has now changed due to being back at work my local council have reassessed my council tax bill and increased the amount I pay per month by over £100,so not happy ☹️
Hi Jennymary, Thanks for your birthday wishes and sorry that your own week was a bit mixed. I think it's really disappointing when food out goes wrong. Goodness knows it's usually expensive enough and it can spoil the whole occasion if the food's not right and/or we have to complain. Wouldn't you just know that your clinic appointment would clash with a work day. It's all so annoying and causes a lot of frustration trying to have to reschedule.
I'm not surprised you aren't happy with your council tax bill! Wow, that's a lot extra to pay. I wouldn't be happy either. Is there any way you can appeal? that's eye-watering! 🙄
PS. Forgot to say it was my granddaughter whose stick won the race! Mine immediately fell on an obstruction (always was hopeless at aiming!). Her 'prize' was more of a penance really, as she stood us the next round of coffee at the cafe! 😆

It's always the way isn't it with hospital appointments that they book them for a really inconvenient time!
Good news I have my second covid injection this Monday coming down at the new centre in cardiff bay where toys r us was at 10.45 so Monday is a day out in cardiff bay.
I get fed up with paying for food that isn’t really good. Sometimes you get cold food or undercooked food. Not great.
That’s a huge increase and doesn’t seem right somehow. I’d query that. Hope you get your osteoporosis appointment soon with the DEXA scan too. Good luck. Xxx😘
Had some job interviews on Wednesday and Thursday this week which I feel are great experience in learning how to handle stressful situations and I had a cup of tea sat in a cafe as well on Wednesday.
Bank holiday Monday for me was a quiet day as we decided to give the seaside a miss as it was busy that day and watched Jaws 2 and had a walk to the local shop for some bread and milk and had a walk roumd the neighbourhood in the evening which I enjoyed.
Today has been a quiet and restful day here as I have had a walk out round the neighbourhood earlier in and had meatballs with sweet potato mash for today's lunch which I enjoyed.
Tomorrow we are having a pub lunch out which I am looking forward to!

Well done on continuing with your job search Catgirl1976. It is good to go through as many interviews as you can as it does teach you a lot about handling stress and awkward questions!Good idea to stay away from the coast on Monday too. We were heading inland but noticed how much traffic was heading in the direction of the sea on our travels. I was glad we were going the other way!
Just had some great news as the interview for next Friday at 9 am has been cancelled as they have redeployed someone into that role who needed a move which I understand completely.
My interview for Tuesday is still on though and my jab on Monday.
Hi Callendersgal, glad to hear you had a totally poohtastic birthday.🍰🎂🎉🥂Sounds as if great fun was had by all. Your daughter and granddaughter seemed to enjoy it that’s for sure😂
Last Friday we spent time with the grandchildren at Drusillas which was great fun and then on Bank Holiday Monday we had family round for a bbq and a splash in the pool. Well the grankids splashed everyone I think which was funny. Nice to all be together having fun in the garden.
I do hope you’re atrial fibrillation is well managed and I’m pleased you have been vindicated. Just take care.
It was a brilliant day for a family get together and certainly my day went really well. Better than I'd anticipated in fact, even though it was very Pooh themed! 🤣🤣🤣Thanks for your good wishes for my AF. At least now I'm diagnosed it should be a bit easier to get some help if and when I need it and not be made to feel by the medical profession that I'm 'fussing'! 🙄
Hope your weekend will be a good one too. 🔆😃🙏👍🌸❤️ xxx
Hi FredaE, I've 'liked' your post, but don't like that you've had a stroke, it's just that we've missed you! So very glad you are able to come back to the community and pleased that you are home now. That was a horrible thing for you and I'm sending you every good wish for a good recovery.
