Can’t help I’m afraid Nanna but just want to say that I hope the surgery has worked well for you. Xxx

Hi Nanna2017 and a big welcome to the Care Community. You don't say how recent your surgery was, or what you were told to expect following it, so it's not really possible to say whether this is a part of the healing process or not.

I think you should take time out to go and talk to your GP about this. If your surgery offers telephone appointments that would be a quicker and easier way for you to check this out, but I think you do need some professional reassurance. Best wishes with it all and I hope you are feeling completely better soon.

Sorry nanna cant hrlp but do hope you get answers from members

Hi - i had spinal surgery on my lower back 6 years ago - fused 3 of the lower vertebrae’s- was couch rest for 6 weeks then getting up -some physio - after year started pilates - never thought i would get out of the beginners class - the lady that took classes was aware of my situation and would tell me if i wasn’t to do certain exercise After two years now in intermediate - play tennis but wear a secure belt round the fusion area - Do get aches and pains but important to keep up with an exercise regimen - and if am in pain probably because i’ve been stupid gardening for too long etc! Only take pain killers when i play tennis . Happy to answer any questions - good luck

sorry went on there didn’t read your note properly - yes i do get pain in my lower back now and then - can’t remember what the muscles are called but they are linked to other muscles tracking down the legs and if they are not stretched enough the others get shortened - think that was the problem - speak to your doctor for a recommended physio - someone that specialises in this type of surgery

I had micro discectomy on my lower back in 2009. It had got to the point where the disc prolapse was causing me severe pain and walking difficulties.

It’ was the right thing to do - although I need to be careful and still have some twinges, at least now I can walk nirmally.

Hope your op gives you some relief

Take care x
