I was diagnosed with fatty liver about 7.5 years ago. At the time I was terrified but knew nothing. I was scheduled to get a biopsy. In fear and because of work I did not follow up. I also had a friend who is was a gastroenterologist, tell me basically there was nothing to worry about. So I didn't Fast forward to the present, I know this is a big deal. I been to the ER multiple times with crazy symptoms. Every time I go they say there is nothing wrong. Several CTscans and ultrasounds and all that is said is yes you have fatty liver and your ok. I just had bloodwork and nothing in my metabolic is remarkable even though I have fatigue cramping and other symptoms. I put my numbers in several fibroscan calculators. 1 says I have advanced liver fibrosis and the rest say stage 0-1. No diabetes, Although I feel like it or cholesterol issues, my blood pressure is fine and kidney numbers are fine. My bloodwork is good except low saturation (total iron and binding capacity is good as well as ferritin). Having RUQ pain at night. Anybody have similar issues? (Getting another CT in 2 weeks)

Fatty Liver/fibrosis calculator/blood work

Hi! Have they done a Fibroscan? That is a noninvasive, quick test that tells you your liver's fibrosis (scarring) level if any (kPa score) and percent fat (CAP score). It is motivating to try to improve them through weight loss if needed, healthy liver diet and exercise. It is also important to know the cause of your fatty liver so that it doesn't get worse (can be autoimmune, alcohol related, weight/diet related, for example). My GI does the fibroscan herself during my yearly appointment. I go to a teaching hospital in the U.S. so I' m not sure how it is done elsewhere but it is quick and easy!
I don't have a GP yet, I will see one in May. I see a gastro who ordered the bloodwork and CT scan. I showed the previous reports and imaging and she didn't seem concerned. I lost 50 lbs but gained some back when I started back to work. My stress levels have been through the roof and exercise has dropped off I always tired. I'm trying to stay away from carbs. Thanks for the reply. I feel like my hands are red and nails pale but when I show the doctor they no its fine.
