Hi

I have my 2nd Liver appointment tomorrow morning at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, it's nearly a year since I had a drink, no small thing for me! But I'm still a bag of nerves...My last Fibroscan result was 10.1 from 29 ( 5 months previously), hoping it's come down even more. 🤞🤞

The team at Edinburgh are superb and as you've played your own massive strides in helping yourself they'll give you all the support they can.

Good luck and don't be nervous.

Great news, can I ask how long you (or anyone) had to wait to see a specialist for the 1st time ? I was diagnosed with PBC back in December 24 but still haven't seen the specialist.

It took 6 months for me. I'm in Scotland and I was told the waiting list is 43 weeks for non urgent and 40 weeks for urgent referrals.

Thank you so much for the reply, I'm up in the Highlands, so I've most likely a couple of months to wait.

No problem. I only found out because I asked my gp to find out and she looked up on her database when I was in her office, she was as surprised as me to see how long it takes. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your supportive comments, After getting my hopes up, I've had a bit of a blow, I'm still at the same score on my Fibroscan (10.1) and this time he confirmed it's F3 Fibrosis. They are going to arrange some type of ultrasound in a couple of months to see exactly what's going on. Said to carry on as I am. I'm feeling pretty awful about it all actually and it's hard not to be full of regrets that I didn't look after myself better in the past.
