hi, has anyone here that’s been diagnosed with simple fatty liver tell me if it’s safe to take Tylenol? I have bad headaches and can’t take ibuprofen due to stomach issues and just wanted to make sure I can take it… or if your doctors have told you it’s ok or not. Ty

fatty liver and Tylenol

Tylenol is the same as paracetemol and certainly here in the UK the general advice we had (from liver unit) is that paracetemol is the safest pain killer for liver patients. Making sure never to exceed the stated dose (and in some case at a reduced dose).

Hi, I have NAFLD and due to being sensitive to so many medications, the only painkillers I am able to tolerate on a daily basis is Paracetamol (Tylenol) and take it up to four times a day as prescribed by my GP.
Ask your doctor since they have all your health factors. My doctor said I can take tylenol (I haven't but wanted to know if I could if really needed) but not ibuprofen. She said no ibuprofen due to my reflux, not my liver. I have moderate MASLD and do not have cirrhosis which she said would come with different recommendations.
My doctor didn’t really seem too concerned about my liver if I’m being honest. She said it was just simple fatty liver but can they even tell that from just an ultrasound? I asked for a FibroScan and she told me that there is a calculator they can use to determine if you are at a risk for fibrosis or cirrhosis and mine was low. Idk I’m trying to find another doc who will take me seriously but it’s hard to find one that doesn’t have a 6 month wait. My ultrasound just said hepatic seatosis.
