Hi I have been told I have fatty liver, stopped taking painkillers as they caused me a lot of pain a few months ago. Worried about getting the flu as will have to take ibuprofen or some such, it's a shame it's not available on the NHS as it is for other conditions.
fatty liver and the flu jab: Hi I have... - British Liver Trust
fatty liver and the flu jab
I got the flu jab for free with NASH. I'm not sure if NAFLD doesn't qualify, but I imagine it would as the category is 'chronic liver disease' which the pharmacist said didn't have subcategories to rule 'in' or 'out' various types.
I got the flu jab at Asda, only £7.
Hi, I've got pbc and just recently had the flu jab and the pneumonia jab on the NHS
I have cirrhosis and I have flu jab. You can get it at the chemist I think it's £10.00
Have you asked doc. My understanding is that if you have any liver condition you are eligible for flu jab. Re. Painkillers you have to be very careful with ibuprofen or similar, my consultant said to take paracetamol, only in a lower dose. Do you know what caused your fatty liver?
As far as I know if you have liver disease no matter what cause its free. Ask your doctor or pharmacy and check. All the best.
I asked the nurse when my son had his for asthma and she said no will ask the doc, not sure what the cause is tbh I'm guessing NAFLD for now still having tests. Thanks so much for the info everyone, will try docs again but if no joy will get it done at the chemists not taking the risk.
