NAFLD and Statin Liver Reaction - Anyone Else?

I was diagnosed with NAFLD just over a year ago following routine blood tests showing elevated LFTs which led to an ultrasound. Since then I’ve lost over 3 stone but my LFTs have continued to rise. Blood tests in January showed no change since the previous ones in October which was something positive, however it showed my cholesterol was high. When discussing it with a GP, they decided that I should be on a statin as weight loss and exercise hasn’t helped. I obviously raised concerns due to my high LFTs that hadn’t really stabilised, but their suggestion was to start the statins and they would recheck my LFTs again in 6 weeks. I had those done last Monday, and on Tuesday I had a phone call from another GP telling me that my LFTs had increased massively, to stop the statins immediately and get myself to A&E to get checked over. I spent a few hours in A&E, followed by Same Day Emergency Care the following day, and again yesterday, being checked over, having several blood tests and an ultrasound scan (showed changes but nothing too major compared to last years scan). Some of my LFTs have gone down but some have gone up a little so I’ve now been referred back to my GP for follow up - I’ve managed to book a blood test but isn’t for another 4 weeks, and I’m waiting for them to get back to me to try and arrange an appointment with a GP. I’m also under an endocrinologist for a genetic condition where NAFLD and high cholesterol is commonly found, and I have managed to get a follow up with him in 6 weeks (I’m hoping he will finally agree to refer me to a liver specialist now!)

Sorry for the long post, but I was just wondering if anyone else has been through anything like this? I’m currently resembling an exhausted, battered and bruised pin cushion!
