bilirubin
Hi,
I had bilirubin around the same as that and was sent home too but requested that I attend regular blood tests to check that it was still dropping. Is she being given anything to help hopefully lower the bilirubin? I was given steroids to help - prednisolone (I think that’s how you spell it) my doctor was apprehensive if it would work but it did and I was able to bring my bilirubin back down to a normal level. Saying that though - I have had to have a complete lifestyle change in order the make sure that this doesn’t happen again.
Mine was 250 when I got release in March 24. Was down to 200 by Nov 24 and is now at 174. I feel great and am majorly less yellow. They are still concerned so monitoring and testing me but I exercise every day and eat as well as I can (defo not perfect) and I feel better than I have in years. I wouldn't worry just ensure she gets lots of protein in her diet and that she has regular checks.
May I ask, how did the yellow in your eyes settle? Has it? Mine seems to still flare up every now and again.
normal level for bilirubin is 22 and below. I found you recover better at home and it takes a while for your levels to come down. Red blood cells take approx 100 days to recycle hence you may still appear jaundice
