I had a Fibroscan score in June of last year of 75kpa. I had Hep C at the time and had just finished with drinking heavily for years.
Yesterday I had the follow up scan and after curing hep C, stopping the drinking altogether, switching to a much healthier diet and taking quite a few supplements my score yesterday was down to 2.9kpa.
So there is always hope that these scores and liver can improve, even with a huge score of 75kpa to begin with.

Wow!! That's brilliant. Well done. Take care Lynne
A vegetarian (nearly vegan) diet, exercise/meditations and lots of different supplements. A pharmaceutical cure for Hep C (Epclusa) and obviously no alcohol at all. See my response below for more details.
Kind Regards, Zak
That has to be a record not just in terms of the amount of lowering of the FibroScan score but the fact that it only took 12 months to achieve. I hope for your sake that the dramatically lower score is a true reflection of the improvement in the health of your liver. One swallow doesn't make a summer & a biopsy is probably needed to verify that your liver has healed itself to the extent suggested by your score. If it has then researchers should study what you did over the 12 month period.
Way to go, this gives inspiration to many others that anything is possible, just don't stop believing.
I also have Diverticulitis so some of what I took was for this condition but who knows if it helped the liver also? I became vegetarian and also stopped drinking cows milk. I did eat a little cheese sometimes and a little bit of chocolate now and then. I also took a lot of curcumin mixed with black pepper and flaxseed oil, three times a day for quite a while. CBD oil\paste daily. Milkthistle daily. Borututu tea often. Liquorice root tea (not too much though as it can other issues). Liv32 tablets daily. 5-HTP tablets daily. L-Theanine tablets daily. High dose vitamin C daily. Marshmallow leaf and chamomile flower tea with yarrow pretty much daily. Thiamine twice a day. High strength vitamin B tablets twice a day. I think that is pretty much it! Also melatonin at night (10mg) for better sleep and rest. Took more exercise and did active meditations. Started walking lots more and playing 5 a side soccer up to twice a week. I also lost about 3.5 stone in weight during this time. Completely cut out alcohol obviously.
Congratulations 🎊🎉. I always said diet has a lot to do with helping the liver
Hell yea brother! Thats honestly the lowest score ive ever even heard of someone having. Fantastic news! Mine has lowered from 58.9 to 17.5 in ten months. Im on your coat tails and hope I get down as low as yours! 🙂🙂
I will see if I can find out Mark. I am guessing you may mean the number of tests? It was tested (pulsed!?) twice (x10) with two different probes as the reading was so high on the first ten. So it total we took 20 different readings with an average of 75kps (this being as you say correctly, the highest figure the machine will read) back in early June last year. I wish I'd recorded more or took in a bit more information from the first test but was I was in shock somewhat from the score being so bloody high. I was hoping it would be lower this time but did not think it would lower at all that quickly and to such a degree. My LFT's last year suggested probable cirrhosis. ALT score being particularly high. I was also beginning to look yellow by this point, particularly in the eyea so there was probable issues with bilirubin. I thought the reading this time was 29kps when first glanced until the specialist nurse said 'I don't know how or what the hell you have done but your score now is down to 2.9kps!! I've been in this job over 30 years and I have never seen such a huge and fast improvement!' I feel very well right now and I am continuing with the diet\exercise\meditation (keeps me less stressed which my specialist is actually quite important too) but have lessened on some of the supplements a bit recently.
Hi well done and fantastic news! I have been told the exact same thing by my consultant and Doctor, I started my healthy lifestyle in September last year. The only thing I do different is I eat a lot of salmon as well but I don’t do supplements as I’m very wary of them.
Amazing what a difference a clean healthy diet and regular exercise can make!
I to had a fibroscan mine was 79kpa I have cirrhosis of the liver and I was really scared because of how high it was but I was told that it can go down like yours well I've gone past worrying but I think I'll ask for another fibroscan to see if it's come down I have been alcohol free for nearly six years and my fibroscan was about a year or less when I stopped drinking so it would be very interesting to find out if it's better I'll keep you posted and thank you for your post I wish you well 😉
Are you all getting multiple fibroscan? I got one initially, to assess degree of liver damage from Hep C (cirrhosis 😧), but after treatment (12 weeks of Zepatier and Ribivirin) I had an US, then 6 months later an MRI with contrast. Should I ask the liver doc about another fibroscan? I'm scheduled for MRI w/contrast in July.
