Iron Infusion

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. I’m on Methotrexate for RA, have been taking it for about 6 years, bloods are taken every few months as it can cause liver problems. My ALT has been low for years now, but since having an iron infusion in April, my ALT, GGT are getting higher - this week after a blood test my ALT was 97. I’ve been advised by my Rheumatologist to stay off Methotrexate for a few weeks to see if it gets better. But I’m thinking it’s a coincidence that since my iron infusion my ferritin has gone from 12 to 670, I’m wondering if the iron has affected my liver - the Doctor who did the iron infusion says it’s definitely not that, but I’m not sure. My GP has organised a liver scan for next week. I’ve been teetotal for 20 years, so it’s not alcohol either. 🤔
