Morning everyone

I'm due to travel to Germany for a week in a month's time and have been advised to take out travel insurance that covers pre-existing medical conditions. I'm finding it really hard to get any results on search engines like Compare the market. Does anyone know of a good company that'll cover Liver cirrhosis? Thank you 😊

I found 'PayingTooMuch' travel insurance the best. It covers liver cirrhosis and all my other ailments. It's an UK company and you can apply online. I got a yearly policy as I go away often and found it much cheaper than other companies. UNLIMITED medical expense.

good morning ,

I too struggled to find appropriate travel insurance earlier this year .

Had success with Staysure but at a price . Almost £700 foe annual European travel excluding any cruises .if I choose to cruise I will have to negotiate with them again .

Straightforward uk base company with helpful understanding staff .

Good luck and I hope you get to have a good time in Germany.

Staysure is a name I see popping up a lot so I'll be sure to check them out. Thanks for the info. I can't wait to get away and relax for a bit. Life has been too stressful.

Hi theres a page about travel insurance on the liver trust web site, they list companiesthat insure cirrhosis. We used staysure and got a good price for a years cover. Outside Europe however is a little harder to get cover at a reasonable price.

hello, I’ve just used insure and go - stay sure wouldn’t cover my OH. £700 for 1 week, a cruise. Hopefully we’ll be able to go! Oh this was with cancellation cover too as this was an extra £300 premium with another company. Hope that’s helpful xx

For Europe look at the yearly policies if your symptom free. They are not much dearer then a week one.

Also don't forget to apply for a free European health card as that's much more usefull in an emergency.

Hey Roy

Yes I have applied for my Global health insurance card for emergencies! Thanks for the reminder :-) I am also symptom free so I'll look into yearly policies too. Appreciate the advise

Hi, I have used Staysure for 2 years. I have been fortunate not to have made a claim so can’t comment on that but they were the cheapest I could find. Good luck.

Hi I'm with Everyday Extra with Cooperative Bank. I pay £15 a month and it covers Travel, Phone and Home Insurance.

I have a joint annual European policy with my husband with Staysure. It costs around £270 for us both. I have PBC, he has no medical conditions.Helen
