Can't offer any companies but can advise I tried to get insurance for Florida last year and with everything declared it was ultra-expensive. I for quotes north of £3k. I don' think the cirrhosis was what influenced it as much as varices and how long it had been since any bleeds / bands etc.

Thanks for your reply. I was told America would be expensive due to the high cost of medical care. I’m hoping to go to Greece. Diagnosed 6 months ago and as yet no varices or other complicationsStay safe.

I’m following post with great interest. Before I had cirrhosis, (2 autoimmune liver disease,), I looked at insurance for Canada ( visit in-laws) but it was coming up at £2500, needless to say I didn’t go on the trip. Over the years I have went to Europe without declaring but with us out the eu now I am wary of doing that. In saying that my daughter is going to Sweden in January for a whole semester (4/5months) and if it is silly price ,I will go without insurance but hoping I can get something reasonable.

Hi Ruby1960 - I've attached some general information from the British Liver Trust which you may find useful but hopefully the other forum members shall have some useful pointers.

Thank you.

Hi

I have only been to Europe

But if you drive, Euro Tunnel covers anyone unless they have been told not to travel

Insurance I used was 4medical.co.uk This was some time ago now due to covid, and things may have changed

That’s what I thought regarding the States. We had planned to tour America for my 60th last year, but then everything changed. Hep c diagnosis, then cirrhosis! All from a blood transfusion 30 years ago. Trying not to be bitter though. If I get to Greece I’ll be happy. And thank you for the info.
