I have been diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis in June 23, now in a compensated state with bloods improving every time.
I have been abstinent since diagnosis.
I do a lot of physical exercise and have been told it’s safe for me to take whey protein. I am very conscious of what I take and have been looking h fi or a safe supplement to help my dry skin. I.e vitamin E, I have also seen positive things about taking BCAA aminos for exercise and also the suggestion it may help cirrhosis along with NMN. This in particular has had positive results reversing fibrosis in mice apparently, but also comes with extra added benefits for someone trying to live an active life with cirrhosis.
can anyone advise if they have any experience or knowledge of this please.

My husband has been adding bcaa to his smoothies for a year now on the advice of his liver specialist. He’s an avid swimmer and the doctor said it would help improve his protein absorption. Hubby’s biggest problem since diagnosis in 2020 is losing weight as he wants and needs to stay active. The swimming is therapeutic. Not just for his mental health but also his arthritic hips. He’s been able to add a little muscle which is a good thing!
I’ve been looking at different things which could help my recovery time after training.
I’ve noticed it’s taking longer to recover from training. Could be age right enough!
I’ve read a few things which may help. Apart from the actual illness, I’ve found it quite frustrating trying to get consistent answers regarding Cirrhosis. I know it’s very much an individual based approach to what’s recommended but the vast differences across the board is giving me additional questions.
