I had a t/plant just over 5yrs ago through pbc I've been doing fine a few little things but not really bad now the consultant is changing tabs from traclamus to adoport just wondering if anyone out there has had this happen to them and if so did you have any side effects

Hi Sharwood, exactly the same boat as you - although only 4.5 years. Mine was at QEHB, and just had letter through the post about the change. I’ll be watching your post with interest. Andy

Hi, Adoport is a brand name for tacrolimus, it is the same drug so side effects will be the same. It isn't just you it is all Birmingham patients being changed. I've taken Adoport tacrolimus ever since my transplant 6 1/2 years ago as it is the preferred brand that Addenbrookes use. This has been discussed a few times in our Facebook group called liver transplant support uk, if you use Facebook please feel free to join, thousands of friendly and knowledgeable people that are in your situation.

If you have any concerns contact your coordinators to discuss.

I got a letter at the weekend saying the same. I'm wondering if this is an NHS wide initiative though. Whilst i'm still a Birmingham patient i actually get my anti rejection stuff from my local hospital instead now. So will be interesting to see. My next appointment is early December so will see what the pharmacist says when they get in touch in a couple of weeks.
