My GGT is 579 at the minute. I would not be concerned at all with a level of 60 but if you are worrying I would repeat bloods again in 3 months & seek advise if it's still rising.
thank you I’d no idea there was a connection with thyroid replacement and raised liver enzymes. I’ve been on meds 30 yrs
Only in recent yrs have my liver enzymes risen.
Hi,
Doctors normally work on the basis of as long as enzyme levels are not more than 3 times the upper level then it’s not a concern, this was repeated to me by a cardiologist recently when my GGT level was 142 and the upper range was 50.
So 3 times the upper level for you would be 126, therefore try and not to be too concerned over such a small increase to 60 and get tested again in 3 months.
I've had some luck eating vegetables and fruits (and limiting meat) to bring the liver inflammation numbers down. You should check with your doctor though before changing your diet because you may need some meat if you're unable to gain weight. It all depends on your particular condition, that is, what stage of fibrosis you have. Best of luck to you👍
