I’m in a right state. I’ve been googling what rises just gamma gt and I’ve been spotting blood, so I googled gamma gt and cervical cancer and it’s come up and I’m in such a state. I’m convinced I have cancer all over my body now. My leg has been aching on and off for 5 weeks doctors keep saying it’s muscular, I started spotting 7 days ago and I had my bloods done and gamma gt was 216. I’m ringing the doctor today regarding my bleeding but I just can’t stop thinking about cancer. Does gamma gt rise in cancer patients im so so scared

Gamma gt and cancer ?
GGT can be raised for several reasons and no reason, mine has been high for years but no cause found despite extensive testing.
What kind of Number is yours?
Last one was around 226 I think but it goes up and down, one before that was only just above top of the range. It's been like that for about 12 years.
None of my other lft were high. One was a little higher but only 42. I am making myself poorly 😭😭
Yes googling does that. The American ones will have you believing you will be dead within months! Only your doctor can tell what's really wrong with you.
If you can’t stop yourself from googling, which will massively increase your anxiety, use the NHS or BLT sites. The information is at least, accurate.
Hi Lucky
The worst thing you can do is Google your symptoms which I'm presuming most of us have done and found our diagnoses to be wrong after investigations have been carried out!
I too have had fluctuating very high GGT's plus other raised LFT's since April 2018! All I know is that I have some unknown autoimmune disease which flares up and down for no reason! This is still under investigation.
With regards to your spotting blood, can I ask have you submitted urine samples to your doctor? I'm asking because I was in the same position as you three months ago and had to supply urine samples every 2 weeks for 2 months before being referred to a urologist for a cystoscopy examination 2 weeks ago! The cause of my spotting blood was not found and was discharged! My advice is too stop thinking the 'C' word until you've been fully diagnosed by a urologist as it only causes more grey hairs to grow!
In the meantime try to relax a little and let your GP and consultants finds the cause!
All the best Trish x
