Good morning and welcome to the forum where you will be able to get advice and support from others with experience of liver disease.
However, this is not a medical forum and none of the members are qualified to diagnose or give specific medical advice. Users are advised to NOT post test results or scans and request an interpretation from other members.
Test results vary according to both the individual’s whole health and the specific laboratory analysing the results.
To avoid misinterpretation and undue concerns, results can only properly be understood by a qualified medical practitioner with full knowledge of your unique medical history and circumstances.
Please don’t be discouraged from using the forum as there are members with a great deal of understanding and knowledge of living with liver disease as a patient or carer. They will be able to give you the benefit of that experience with understanding and empathy that can only come from those with first hand involvement.
You are not the first and will not be the last to come to the forum and look for answers which are only really available from your medical team.
This is a great forum with lots of people with experience of living with or caring for others who have liver disease.
We understand your worry and hope you get the right support and if needed, treatment for your liver problem.
Please carry on talking here at forum and use the British Liver Trust website where you will get lots of relevant information / advice to help you enjoy good general and, of course, liver health.
Looking forward to hearing how things are going for you.
is your ALT raised? why did you have a GGT done? where you feeling unwell that your doctor decided to do a GGT because most doctors do not order that test unless other labs are out of range. I just fond that out thru having test with my father-in-law...they did all the other test but the GGT was the last test ordered.
No. All others within range. When i was in a and e a few months previous my liver enzyme was elevated not sure which one. Somthey did a repeat. I was in because of stomach pain. Gastritis and h pylori
My labs ggt upper level limit is 54. Your other labs look great. Mind you we arent doctors but many things can cause ggt to raise. If I had to guess whatever it is is not being caused by your liver. Smoking can increase it, vigourous exercise can cause it, certain meds can imcrease it, heart related things can increase it. It also may have come down by the time you do your next blood work. Keep on the Docs .. they will figure it out
