Nuclear heart scan

Hi, all.I'm now going back through assessment for a 2nd transplant.

And I've been sent for a nuclear heart scan.

I'm sure I never had one before.

Has anyone had one and what does it show.

It's a detailed scan/test of your heart to make sure you're safe to go for your operation. You will have had a heart stress test first time round (treadmill, exercise bike).

You will no doubt have had some sort of heart stress test - at my hubbies assessment it was done on an exercise bike - all wired up etc. Some centres use a tread mill and others can replicate the affects of stressing the heart with some sort of drug.

I never had anything like that, had a heart ultrasound that's all.Hilary
