Dear Bucket13,
Test results vary according to both the individual’s whole health and the laboratory analysing the results and should always be interpreted by the user’s own health care professionals.
We suggest talking this through with your own doctor or health care professional.
Best wishes

Speak with your consultant or Liver nurse. They should explain to you what all this means. I'm having a Liver scan checking for tumours this morning. I have two per year, arranged by them.
Hi Bucket,
I think this really just confirms what you already know about having a cirrhosis diagnosis. The biopsy report just describes what they saw.
The UKELD and Child/Pugh score try to give an indication of how the liver is actually functioning and whether there is any likely need for transplant any time soon. As BLT say, it is very much worth discussing this with your medical team. However, in my experience, those values actually look to be pretty reassuring. They are very much on the lower end of the scale. It wouldn't indicate there was any need for any significant intervention any time soon. Indeed, it may even be that never ends up the case particularly as you already have a potential cause identified.
For info, anything in the Child A category seems to be generally indicative of the liver working pretty normally, albeit with some damage in there. If you ever play with the UKELD algorythm, yes sad that I am, i have done just that in the past, lol. To get a UKELD score of 45 that would also need to be the case. So that should at least be a little reassuring. Even though I'm sure having a cirrhosis diagnosis is anything but. Again though, do get that confirmed by your medical team when you next see them.
I'm not sure about the stiffness result, thats the KPA score you see. I'm guessing this is just to give an indication of how extensive any fibrosis or scaring may be. I am though guessing there a bit. So that is defo one to ask your medical team.
AI can provide this:
"The statement "liver biopsy - bridging fibrosis and portal venule damage corresponding to cirrhosis" indicates that the liver biopsy sample taken from the patient shows evidence of bridging fibrosis and damage to the portal venules, which are small blood vessels within the liver. These findings are consistent with the diagnosis of cirrhosis.
Cirrhosis is an advanced stage of liver disease characterized by the scarring and fibrosis (formation of connective tissue) in the liver. Bridging fibrosis refers to the presence of fibrous bands that connect different areas of the liver, indicating extensive scarring. Portal venules are part of the portal vein system that carries blood to the liver from the digestive organs, and damage to these vessels is associated with liver dysfunction.
The biopsy results suggest that the patient's liver has significant fibrosis and structural damage, which is indicative of cirrhosis. Cirrhosis can result from various causes, such as chronic alcohol abuse, viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, autoimmune conditions, and others. The severity and prognosis of cirrhosis depend on factors such as the underlying cause, the extent of liver damage, and the overall health of the individual.
It's essential for the patient to consult with a healthcare provider who can provide a comprehensive evaluation of their liver condition, discuss the implications of the biopsy findings, and develop an appropriate treatment plan."
