Hi I thought I’d just share my journey with you all, now I do understand that everyone is completely different we all react differently but this is just my experience. I had my transplant nearly a month ago, I was in ICU for 3 days after waking up still on life support but the doctor took the tube out really soon as I was asking for it to come out, then on to a ward where I went on to proper food (although it was hospital food 😝) I was sick and back to water but the next day back on food and was fine. Stayed in the ward for 9 days 12 days in all then home, very relieved to get my wife’s cooking back 😋. Now the one thing that has amazed me except for feeling so good so quickly is the lack of pain, of course there is some and if you turn or move without thinking it reminds you that you have had a big operation but as the operation was so big I’m amazed at how little pain I’m in and feeling great. So I just wish everyone can get their operation and feel as good as I do 💕💕. Back up to the hospital today last week they had to put my anti rejection meds up ,a bit disappointed but they are keeping a close eye on me. Good luck everyone from the wife and I 💕💕

Don't worry too much about the dosage of the anti rejection meds, its all over the place for a while. I had mine in November and am only on 0.5mg advagraft daily now.
Unfortunately I need another one due to "issues"( not related to the liver itself) but the feeling after having it done was amazing,
wow I loved reading your post, it really gives hope for a future for everyone, I am so glad you are not in too much pain, and your wife must be equally pleased to have you home, I bet she cooks you some lovely foods and is spoiling you. All the best for a happy life and future together xx
HI Dave, Congratulations and well done! I am 7 months post transplant. I too was amazed at the "lack" of pain. I have had some difficulties though, I think with medication- getting used to it. My sleep was messed up for a long time, food didn't taste very nice, blood pressure and diabetes messed up. Then I got a virus-- 5 weeks on, I think it is improving, but not quite "there" yet. So, all in all, I am doing well, but not quite adjusted, which might take me about a year.
