Hello everyone, I was delighted yesterday to be 6 months post transplant.
Feeling grand, and I think like I should be in recovery. Great!
Just thought I would mark this day by saying a HUGE THANK YOU, to each and everyone of you. For your support in what was a few difficult months.
I am sure I am out the other side now. Ready to live my new life. (I have the force with me). LOL.
Seriously, one and all you know who you are, thank you so much, for all your love and support.

What Fantastic news
I am at nearly 18 months and doing really well, I know that when at I was 6 months I thought I was better but, 18 months I am still getting back to normal.
Just old age now to contend with!
Plus getting used to cutting the grass etc etc
But so glad I can do it again!

Hello David, 18th months doing well but still trying to get back to normal?? I am so happy for you. All the same, it has made me think; just how much I tend to rush things.. My favourite saying on here is “sega sega”. Which is Greek for slowly slowly.
Then quite often do not heed my own advice. LOL. Thank you for the reminder, that really I should try have more patience and sega sega... I think I expect too much maybe from myself.
I have old age to contend with also .. We will get there. I have every confidence.

I was thinking about what you said about normal life before we were ill. Not totally sure we can expect that as it was. After all our bodies have been through a huge change, I long for the 70% as you are..to search for 100% maybe is asking too much from our battered bodies? Although what do I know, truly I know nothing about anything. I was just thinking about what you said.. Do you think you will become 100% as you were? Jaycee

That is a very good question
All I can say is that at 18 months I now know how much I have improved from the 6 months stage
I was wrecked for over 8 years and I had become at lot weaker, plus I was 55 when diagnosed and now I am 66, so I am not sure how I should feel at this age.
I doubt I will ever get fully back, but that is not going to stop me trying. Its very least I can do to honour my donor , every day I think of how lucky I have been.
You are right the recovery is taking a lot longer than I thought it would and I am still on the journey, but will try and be the best I can get

My lethargy seems to be at an all time high at the moment due to insomnia, but you'd know all about that.
Waiting for call no 6 without trying not to think about it all the time. Xx
Oh, I really do know my friend. Please try to stay positive, you are so near, I know it is hard truly I do.
However, not being on the list, on the other hand is so much worse, you are at the very top of the list of this I am sure.
I want this so much for you. Everyone here does. We are all holding you up, in our thoughts and prayers.. Have you ever used the “Calm” app ? I am not 100% sold on it but would try anything to sleep.
A breathing app helped me (a little).
I bought a Apple Watch, because I was so terrified of missing the call.
It was good for me, because it had a breathe app on there which did help. It had my exercise app which I totally obsessed on...
I used to walk everyday and listen to my music as I walked. This used to take my mind off things, it was great. I then had to beat each day, until I walked between 8- 16 kilometres a day.
Just waiting for that call drives you nuts... I know.
What about reading do you read a lot Maxey?
Have you got a list of things you want to do afterwards? Looked into holidays, do you keep a diary to remember your journey.
Do you have a list of goals.
I made promises to myself as well, like spending time with my grandchildren. Knowing life is too short.
Anyway, I ramble on too much, just know we are all thinking of you. So, stay strong Maxey, we believe in you.
Let go of the lethargy and believe in yourself, you are stronger than you think.
For you to think about for the very near future.

What a lovely reply. Thanks Jaycee. I have tried a few different methods to assist sleeping but they never seem to work. I do like reading but at the moment with all this going on nothing really gets retained. Walking is a good therapy though especially for the senses. My whole body just feels weird at the moment, it's like it affects everything and nothing. I'm probably not making much sense but it's as if its pulsing through me. Its hard to put it into words. Xx
Maybe an audio book, saves all the holding the book LOL. I get weird as well, my friend. Worry not, you make perfect sense. The really great news in all - is it is not far away. Your rebirth is so near. I can taste it. So hold on my friend. Stay on the site talk to everyone they are all here for you. Soak in the love and support they will give. Refresh your soul.

Hi Lynne you are constantly in my mind, as I suffer with lack of sleep as well. However, it is not on the same scale as you at all. I just have insomnia, whereas you are in constant pain. My heart is with you always Lynne. Xx

Main symptoms aside Miles the disease is just so strange with a twinge here and an involuntary digit movement there. I actually got cramp in my Achilles heel the other day WTF is all that about. I'm chuckling to myself re all the bizarre oddities liver cirrhosis presents.

Wait till after your TP then you will see some major twitches and arm thrashing after you come out of an uncommanded nap on a busy train! Poor wife got bashed across the head on a lot of those train journeys back from the clinic at the QEHB..... And, I can’t think why, but I did get some odd looks...
I meant to say that this doesn’t go on for ever! It is one of the tablets I’m sure lol.
Awww it's so nice to hear how well people are doing post transplant!
It does change people's outlook on life and most people go on to move forward with their future with a new vigor to live life to the full!

Hello Ballie, thank you so much for your reply. So appreciated. I always took comfort in seeing how others were post transplant whilst I was on the list. I am indeed feeling great now, but it has been an uphill struggle at times.. All the same constantly look each day in the eye with a very grateful heart. Hope your journey is good also.

I'm being good and sort of resting today! No gym but keeping busy doing things around the house !
Just had a bit of a scare ! I was just checking my SkyLine Venue Page online covering my dive at Tilstock Airfield Whitchurch when I noticed that somehow my dive location had been changed to another airfield at Salisbury ....Grrrr! I telephoned there HQ and there now looking into the error and why my online skyline page had been altered !!!
I'm so glad I was just browsing my web page for information on what I should be wearing on the day!!!!!
I've notified them that the news paper had announced my flight and they must get it sorted ....
I'm ok otherwise and thank you for asking. Have a wonderful meal Thursday!
