Hi guys This is my first post on here, and im just looking for advice really?

I've recently been diagnosed with fatty liver disease and enlarged liver, my g.p was surprised to hear that I rairly drink, and my diet isn't bad

( I cook most meals from scratch in the air frier) and takeaway 2/3 times a month.

They've advised me to continue following a healthy diet and will repeat bloods in 6 months and do another ultrasound in a year.

Does this sound right? I thought they might of wanted to do further tests on what's caused so much damage in the first place?

Or am I just overreacting?

I've also been tested for diabetes which came back negative.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Kelly

Have you been referred to a liver clinic?

No nothing blood test in 6 months time, was rather shocked to say the least, was informed that it doesn't always progress to cirrhosis , like great thanks alot!!! I'm exercising daily now, but am worried as I can't see how I've got this in the first place? Suffer with night sweats and sleep problems for the last 2 years so if this is what's causing it surprised no further tests are being carried out?

Is your BMI over 25? Fatty liver diagnosed by ultrasound is not always that serious. The key question is if fibrosis is also a problem. But all questions you should direct to your doctor.
