hi there, recently prescribed Aza as part of my programme and wondering if people have issues with the sun? Is it okay to wear a really good factor 50 every day or should I avoid the sun altogether? Am outside a lot for my job so this might be difficult!
Aza and sun sensitivity: hi there... - British Liver Trust
Aza and sun sensitivity
I am on Aza znd enjoy a little sun sensibly. Wear a hat. High factor sunscreen and stay out of the mid day sun. I would suggest wearing long sleeves and trousers when working outside although I appreciate you may feel uncomfortable working in high temperatures ( which is best to avoid if possible)We still have to carry on with our lives but make a few adjustments. I still allow myself a little sun exposure to top up vitamin d. One thing is for sure...dont let your skin burn!!!!
Same as Aztec632 enjoy but in moderation and never without sunscreen. Aza has over the years thinned my skin so it has become sensitive and can burn more easily but it doesn't stop me enjoying the sun when it's here. Live in Scotland so not so much anyway. Spf 20 mins before I leave the house even for gardening.
Hi Tippy, I was told that it can increase the risk of skin cancer so I do the same as others. Always wear factor 50, keep long sleeves and skirts/ trousers, wear a hat and sit in the shade. Doesn’t stop me doing the garden! There are really good wicking fabrics these days so hopefully you won’t overheat while you’re working. Explain it to your boss and ask for reasonable adjustments eg adjusting your hours so you’re not out in the sun during the hottest part of the day. Adjustments to clothing rules etc.
