Hi, I believe pain in your left shoulder is quite common, its called referred pain mine was due to gallstones.Hilary

Right shoulder rather than left can be referred pain caused by liver issues, gall bladder problems. Left shoulder can be related to spleen or pancreas.

"But how can the liver cause pain in your shoulder? Well, it has to do with something called referred pain. Referred pain is when the pain you’re feeling in one part of your body is actually being caused by another part of your body.

When the gallbladder has stones or is congested, or the bile duct is blocked or irritated, this can irritate a nerve called the phrenic nerve. Your phrenic nerve runs up the side of your body and irritating it may cause right shoulder pain. If you have left shoulder blade pain, it may actually be because of the pancreas."

At the time you were suffering shoulder pain maybe your liver was more inflamed or enlarged and causing the irritation of that phrenic nerve, if liver issues have calmed down the referred shoulder pain probably has too.

I ment right shoulder when I had gallstones, when I had pain in my left shoulder it was my spleen bleeding.

Very, but it was a very unique case due to me taking blood thinners post transplant, nothing for anyone else to worry about unless you've had a major accident. Just said to show its referred pain.

I agree with the suggestion of Referred Pain. I had a liver biopsy which resulted in a terrible pain in my right shoulder. The consultant advised that it was a result of referred pain and is known problem when you have surgery on the liver
