Hi. Have you been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis? In any case, you have had severe bleeding from esophageal varices, which suggests portal hypertension. Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is usually associated with portal hypertension. Symptoms of HE can be very diverse. Not having no energy tired all time snappy no concentration can be symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy if there is no other reason for it. Perhaps you have already been prescribed treatment for hepatic encephalopathy? Doctors usually prescribe lactulose and rifaximin to treat HE. You should talk to your liver consultant about this.

Oh dear you have been through the mill, a transplant is a huge operation and a life of restrictions and medication. It sounds like the doctors are keeping the option for you, but none attendance to clinic demonstrates poor compliance. I understand you don’t feel well, but you need to prove that no matter what you will attend every appointment. There’s a severe shortage of organs so the elimination criteria is set high. Only you can decide if you want to follow the strict transplant regime. I decided not to go on the transplant list 8 years ago and have worked very hard and stabilised my liver. You need to decide what you want to do and then fight for the best possible outcome. Good luck
