Hi I had a successful liver transplant (which I am very grateful for) 2 years ago in February, I had no pain after my operation but just before Christmas I have been getting some pain and discomfort does anyone know if this is normal to feel pain this long after my transplant please?
Liver pain: Hi I had a successful liver... - British Liver Trust
Liver pain
Before and after transplant I get a "feeling". It's not painful but I'm aware of my liver. I mentioned this at my last consultation and the consultant seemed unconcerned. But mine is in no way painful.
Thank you Rodeojoe I say "painful" but its more a discomfort really, pain is very difficult to explain, Im not doubled over in pain but Im aware of some feeling there.
Yes its not constant and its bearable I will mention it the next time I go for my check up thank you Rodeojoe
I'm 16mth post op after emergency L transplant, so don't know what pain etc to look for, so every pain, etc I got I called co ordinators & mentioned it when there for appointment. Have always been told nothing to worry about can be discomfort from scarring tissue & obviously, especially fairly early on we are looking for any twinge etc, but discomfort from scar tissue is quite normal. Some people get none & some get a lot that never goes away. I'd just mention at next appointment if not to far away or ring coordinators am sure they will be able to reassure you. Hope all ok x
Hello xxx apparently in the medical world 😂😂 you can't have 'liver pain' ???? Although there are many that would disagree xx hubby (rob) often says he has pain in area of liver - his is different tho as he has Hep C and its battering the new liver so we associate any pain he has with that xxx
Definitely worth mentioning at next appointment or if you are concerned give local liver nurse a call or GP - don't sit and worry about it as there will be someone that can either arrange some bloods or talk it through with you 😘😘😘😘😘
can he not have the treatment harvoni etc to stop the new liver from getting worse ricky
No Hun xxx geno 3 - they are hoping to do daclatsvir/sofosbivir/ribavarin (hope I spelt it right) xxx 70% they reckon 😩😩😩 we have already prepared ourselves for it NOT to work so it will be a pleasant surprise if it does 😂😂😂😂😂 but he has to have his teeth sorted 😫😫 and the lymph nodes mystery sorted first 😘😘😘😘 How are you doing ???? Xxxxx
yeah not great im g 3 im on my 10th week of what you said above the heps dropped very low but its took till now to get to very low but not clear most people clear in the first 2weeks so god only knows what happend with me all i can put it down to is being geno 3a get my next results in a couple of weeks then thatll be it i guess consultant keeps saying cos of the cirrociss its harder to clear so well see ricky
Oh Hun 😘😘😘😘 fingers crossed so much for you xxxxxxxx that's what they have told rob 😩😩 and it sounds like what happened with the last treatment rob had - every blood test was only small drop 😫😫 haven't been to see nurses yet about this new treatment but thought I read that if there wasn't a significant drop then they stop treatment ?? Have you heard of that xxxx let's be positive 😘😘😘😘 when do you finish ???? Big hugs and lots of love ❤️❤️❤️❤️
i finish on the 27 th jan but dont reckon itll be clear then u gotta waot another 3months and have another test to see if your clear and yes i have heard that but theve let me go all the way hope it works out for rob all the best ricky
Really feel for you 😘😘😘 so disappointing xx when he did interferon/riba - he had SVR at last blood test but we knew !!! Don't know how and he had next one and yes it was back - so mean 😘😘😘😘 well you never know !!! As I say now - look at worst case scenario and if it ends up better than that then it's good 😅😅😅 hugs ❤️❤️❤️
yeah gotta stay focused all the luck to u both ricky
Thank you Robswife pain is difficult to explain so I will make an appointment with my GP next week. I hope your husband will be ok.
