Prednisolone Withdrawal Symptoms

I was taking 15mg of Prednisolone and was then put on 9mg of Budesonide at the same time with the idea of stopping Pred & staying on Bud.

Trouble is they told me to stop Pred abruptly after one week without tapering.

Last night & today I feel very, very rough. The only way to describe it is like I've lived in a dark cave without sleep for a month & I've just stepped out into the sunlight. My eyes feel like dried out raisins. I'm aching, feel groggy & frazzled. Like the mother of all hangovers. Horrible

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be my reaction to Budesonide? Could it be my liver?

Should I start taking 5mg Pred to try & calm it down or will it calm down on its own.

I felt fine when I was taking both meds.

I'm getting big aches from upper right quadrant area as well since last night 😬

I need your help please 😊

Thank you very much for your help & advice. I've just emailed liver nurse. I'm starting to think it is prednisolone withdrawal. Stopped it Friday, bad from Saturday. Makes sense. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

From what I understand from personal experience sounds like withdrawal symptoms, defiantly contact your Dr. I recently tapered from Prednisolone 5mg after taking for 11 years by reducing 1mg weekly under the supervision of my GP. Unfortunately GP or consultant were not interested when I explained all the same symptoms you are experiencing as well as shaking, weight loss, extreme fatigue and nausea. Best wishes hope you feel better soon!

Thank you. Does sound like withdrawal. That might be a good idea to see GP & to take 1mg to keep it in my system. Did seem odd to go from 15mg to nothing.
