My symptoms are rather vague. Some occasional mild twinges under my right rib and a right sided middle back pain, which has actually seemed to lessen since I've drastically changed my diet. My stool was pale yellow, but so long as I eat good, healthy, dark green veggies everyday that's improved as well. However, I've also been suffering from extreme fatigue and overheating.
I have no idea if these symptoms are related. I used to think the sweating was age related, 54 year female, but I am on hormone replacement. These symptoms are huge deterrents in getting the exercise I need to lose weight. I sweat profusely while just seated at my desk, which makes taking a vigorous walk during the work day nearly impossible.
I'm also struggling to stay awake. I feel like I could fall asleep while I'm sitting at a traffic light and I do fall asleep right after dinner. On the weekend it's a real effort to get out the door. I only force my self out on Saturday because I feel like I need Sunday to recharge at home for the work week.
I also seemed to have to developed what appears to be rosacea on my cheeks.
Has anyone else had anything similar? I realize these symptoms may be completely unrelated.

Hi Lara, the only person who can really shed light on your symptoms would be a doctor. We can all make guesses but none of us are medically qualified to look at a list of symptoms and come up with suggestions.
Make a list of the symptoms you are experiencing and go to your GP and hopefully he/she will order a set of blood tests for starters to see if there is anything going on with your liver. There may or may not be so it is best to get checked out. Your thyroid function would also be a good test to get as well as thyroid issues can result in very similar symptoms to menopause symptoms.
I've already been diagnosed with liver fibrosis and I have an appointment with a liver specialist in NYC USA in May. I have some typical symptoms that I've read other people are experiencing but I was wondering if the overheating and fatigue were also symptoms others have experienced. My liver disease is NAFLD/NASH from metabolic syndrome. There's no viral hepatitis or alcoholism. I'm not asking for a diagnosis and I will tell the specialist about my symptoms. I was just wondering if they could be related to my liver based on other peoples' experiences.
Fatigue is certainly a common symptom of liver disease - it's probably the most obvious of my hubbies issues. Over heating not so much so but then that could be a combination of your hormonal issues and other issues. A thyroid function test may still be worth doing - your liver does 500 different jobs and when it's going wrong it can knock on with lots and lots of other symptoms.
Sorry I hadn't recognised your name from your other posts and you never mentioned that you had known liver issues in this post.
My thyroid has been monitored for years due to nodules and a goiter. I was advised years back that it would change eventually but so far it has not changed significantally.
It's so hard to know what to do. My body stores fat in my liver. I'm on diet meds and Metformin for boderline diabetes but I have a desk job. It's almost impossible to get much movement during the work day. And the fatigue and sweating make it so much worse.
I'm hoping that the NY specialist can give me a really good diet, better than the tired old pamphlet from the 80s that my local doctors hand me.
From what I've read you can't make you for sitting all day by exercising after work. I just don't know what else to do. I don't know how to find a good physical job that I can pay my bills with. I would probably have to take a $40000.00 cut in pay! How can I do that?
I'm just venting now. Trying to figure everything out and trying to stay calm until I actually speak to the specialist.
Never diagnosed with them but I was always on the pill. Now I'm on hormone replacement because I'm post menopause and I'm taking Aladactone which is used to treat PCOS and high BP and water retention.
Hi Lara. I may be able to help a little bit. For rosacea I recommend the 'Simple ' moisturising range. It all comes in white boxes with green print. Can buy it from chemists and super markets. It cleared mine up and with continued use it won't return.
Re. hot sweats and over heating, it may be that you need a stronger dose of HRT. So I would strongly recommend you see your doctor and tell him all your symptoms.
Hi Lara. I was dx with FL, ITP, & Hypothyroidism in 2015 (I was 53). I had extreme fatigue, pain in my side, extreme bruising. I was treated for the ITP. Lots of Prednisone. IVIG, and a round of Rituximab infusions. Put on 35 lbs in 3 months (I was already heavy) from medications. In 2017 my liver levels went up & my GP sent me to an GE that ran several panels. I was dx with ALpha1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (liver affected), & NAFLD/NASH. In Jan 2017, even still having extreme fatigue, I started riding a stationary bike 3 times a day for 30 mins (breaking up rides makes it doable for me), & logging everything I eat. I lost 70 lbs. Still have fatigue but keep up with riding. Hope they get you sorted out!
