Just one question,Gall stones,but a long one

I recently had a meeting with the board at a hospital to raise some what I believe to be serious concerns, just to clarify a small issue.,!!, I was diagnosed with gall stones on scan back in Oct 2020,but the consultant didn't tell me untill last July 2021.after another scan check up,which all came back ok but with a note saying gallstones as previously noted.!!! ,I asked the question again at the meeting and he replied we don't need to treat them that's why I didn't tell you.should I have been made aware because he seems to say not,I really never questioned it on the last scan as I didn't know much about them, but finding out later they could be serious, had a lot of pain for months last year worried sick It could have been varices flaring up again but seems it must have been gallstones, after asking Google about problems, didn't think eating would have the effect of them.but all good now, hope everyone is doing relatively well.sorry for long post.

Gall stones were a problem for me and everyone who I have spoken with them have said the same.Eating 1, just one greasy burger (I knew I had gall stones, had been eating healthy food for months) caused 2 gall stones to pop out of my gallbladder and get stuck in my bile duct. This was excruciating pain and only morphine took the pain away. A lady I spoke with said that she had a gall stone stuck in her bile duct and that the pain was worse than child birth (her words).

I had a operation to remove the gall stones (successful procedure) but when they drained the ascites fluid off first I got an infection. The infection lead to kidney failure......

In my experience gall stones/gallbladder need to be dealt with as soon as or such as me, removed at the same time as the liver transplant. (10 out of 10 pain)

I suppose it depends on the person's condition and the consultants discretion.

All the best....

Pretty much painfull,!! My last post a few months ago,I was in so much pain I wouldn't go out at all,it was strange that after the colonoscopy I never knew when I needed to go to the toilet, untill I got extreme pain, the only thing I could match it with is when I had my heart attack at 36 that was hell, bit after gtn spray I knew it wasn't ticker trouble,I called gp and he said you must be just constipated, that was it.! But since meeting last month at hospital consultant mentioned it was in the notes for gp regards gallstones,I had a same copy, nothing in,unti the very last scan saying still noted gall stones, bit it's all got better somehow, tried and tested at Macdonald's,no pain and regular now like a Boris Johnson party ,every day without fail,so keep my fingers crossed.hope ya doing ok mate.

Boris Johnson party, hahahaha 🤣, is that the hole party or just the after party? Hahahaha 🤣.I'm feeling 90% better, I just have some pain and numbness in my feet (same feeling I had with cirrhosis) that actually felt better a week or two after the transplant. Hoping that has nothing to do with the slight rejection I have been getting.

Glad to hear you are doing much better and you carry on the same path pal, there's nothing worse than being poorly and masses amount of pain to boot.

Good luck....

Hi thanks for post, mainly after eating but put it down to bob the builder doing a colonoscopy late Oct 2019, all seems sorted now, just supprised that he didn't tell me on first scan, could have been avoided but all ok now thank god.thought I was having another heart issue,so if you can imagine the pain of gall stones that is similar to my heart attack scale of ten 15. Bad.cheers pal.
