I just thought i'd give everyone an update as promised. Since my last post, where the hospital gave my relative days to live, I am pleased to say she is still here and what's more, appears to be slightly improving. She was transferred to a hospice about 2 weeks ago and her health was still very poor. She seemed very down as you can imagine, as she had been in denial up to this point, and spent a long time in hospital. I'm pleased to say that about a week ago, she became more settled and talkative. She still can't eat anything but is enjoying milkshakes, watching tv and now talking about getting out for some fresh air (if that is possible). The hospice is now talking about a transfer to a nursing home. This isn't ideal for her as she is so young for this, but the reality is that she will need ongoing 24 hour care. She will never walk again, but a wheelchair and someone to push her around is always an option. There hasn't been another bad bleed although she understands this could happen. She still remains very sick obviously, and things could change suddenly, but the turnaround since moving to the hospice has been quite remarkable. From spending months in hospital with little hope, she could be moving into extra time. Fingers crossed.

Thank you so much Julie. We are not kidding ourselves as the damage is done, but for the hospital to withdraw any further treatment and give her days and not weeks is amazing.
