I'm currently having upper right quadrant pain when I bend over and slouch. I've had a ct scan with contrast. Had an ultra sound and Mri. Blood tests fine too.
Also colonoscopy and laroscopy. I'm currently seeing a gastroenterologist privately as I'm not getting to the bottom of the pain. Dr has referred me to have another endoscopy with ultra sound attached. I have drank alchahol for about 20 years and more than the recommended amount. I have informed the Dr about this. He assured me there's nothing sinister going on in my body! My question is do I need a fibroscan or mre or mrcp scan?
Really appreciate any advice given?
Thank you.

I have had a pain similar to that you describe. Under my right rib. Notice it when I’m driving or slouched over. 14 years, scans ,blood. Nothing. I know it’s my gallbladder. I have raised amylase levels which they can’t find out what’s causing it. Surely there is a link!!
Hi Dean, I noticed it too when I'm driving. I thought it was also afyer eating but then realised I'm just sat in the slouched position when eating. Dr said he was going to see if my gall bladder isn't working correctly hence the laroscopy with the ultra sound. Have you had scans ect?
How did you find out it was distended? Why haven't nt taken it out? The pain I get is like a pin prick and sometime a sharp splitting pain. Occasionally I get it under the right ribs too?
Yes that’s why I’m on here!! haha!! Yes cirrhosis, but it’s not related to that so my consultant says!? I’ve not been told not too,it’s just I try not too!!
I didn't realise that Dean with you saying the scans where clear. Thought the liver was too!! Guessing there saying the pain isn't related to chirrosis?
There always high,I have hyperamylaseia. My liptase is normal. My consultant did a break down of the amylase isoenzyme and it’s mainly salavitry, I know it’s my gallbladder bladder
Have you gotten any answers? I have the same pain and 10 year drinking history. My pain is pretty bad to the point I’m holding my right rib cage for pressure. My fibroscan last week was 3.2 kpa and 214 cap so my drs say I gone but I have red palms and itchy skin too. Idk what to believe.
They would only admit me if I was having an acute attack which I haven't had. I'm back to see a gastroenterologist on the 11th Jan for a second opinion!!
My friend has pancreatitis and his pain sees nothing like mine. He always describes his as I the left and he can feel it in the front under the left rib cage. He also gets very nauseous and can’t eat or drink anything. Have you checked pancreatic enzymes?
