Anybody had one? Do you know why I’d need bloods done first? I believe it’s much less invasive than a normal one and doesn’t require sedation.

Ct colonoscopy
Yes bloods tomorrow and ct colonoscopy 31st. Very nervous, not procedure but results! Hope you’re feeling better.
I have had this procedure it truly wasn't painful or uncomfortable to be honest, no comparison to the Endoscopy, Fingers crossed all goes well, Take care xx
Thank Tia, comforting to know! Xxxxxx
Hi Tia. Yes l had the routine bowel cancer colonoscopy and l found it facinating watching the images of my insides on the screen. It was all very ...... pink and shiney ! It took my mind off the slight discomfort when the camera went round a "corner ."Didn't give a thought to the results til afterwards when she said the results would be with me within a week. Recieved a letter within 3 days saying pleased to inform you no cancerous cells were detected. Simple 😀
Sorry to hear that. Hope you get sorted and get your life back, it’s gone on too long for you too, big hugs xxxxxxx
I had one yesterdayThe procedure was fine but was sedated as I had a very painful one last time.I had the results before I went home. They found polyps one buried in my appendix took a biopsy but couldn’t remove as there was danger of perforation.I thought the prep was the worst just got to get through it.Good luck.
Just have to get it over with, thanks for replying.
Nothing useful to add, just hope it goes well for you.
Aw, thanks. I just want answers and to get my life back. Hope you have good evening.
Not certain but I think a CT colonoscopy in non invasive. No pipes up the posteria!
It's just a scan from outside and no internal camera.
Also known as a virtual colonoscopy.
Nothing to do with the liver though.
It can be seen though according to Gastro. He did say it would be inserted where the sun don’t shine, well he didn’t word it like that! Thanks for replying Roy.
🤣🤣🤣Now that has tickled me xxx
CT Colonoscopy/Colonography is described in full on the Cancer Research site @ cancerresearchuk.org/about-...
A small tube is passed up the rectum to allow air to be pumped into the bowel to allow it to be more obvious during the scan phase/X-ray phase.
Best wishes for it and hope you get answers after it that finally identify what is going on with your health issues.
Katie
Thank you Katie, you’re always so helpful. Xxxxxx
Good luck 🤞
Thank you so much.
You can look forward to some truly fantastic farts though.
This made me chuckle. I was in recovery as I was sedated for my colonoscopy a while back now and was actively encouraged with the aid of peppermint tea to fart by the nurses to expell wind as was uncomfortable. One loud ripper got me a round of applause from them, 😂😂. First time for everything!
😂🤣 so funny!
Oh god no! 😂🤣
Hi, could it be a Colonography? Rather than a colonoscopy( which is invasive).I’ve recently had a CT Colonography and it is absolutely much less invasive. I was told sedation wasn’t given because procedure was not painful.
I found it tolerable. Some slight discomfort but that didn’t last long. The scan did not take very long and radiographers with you throughout to reposition you from time to time. Hope this helps. Don’t know why you would have bloods done - every patient is different and has different needs. Could simply be routine.
Thanks for reply, yes it is colonography.
Honestly it is fine. I’m very nervous of all procedures particularly without sedation. If I can do it anyone can. Good luck ❤️🙏
Hi worrsysome Is it a CT colonography you are having? If so I had one last year and the actual procedure is nothing to worry about. It just involves lying on the scanner bed and moving in and out of the scanner while they inject you with contrast dye. You do have to take stuff to clear out your colon the day before- not very pleasant as you will be running to the loo all day. Scan is painless compared to colonoscopy. All the best Al
Thank you, very reassuring.
Been given stuff to take this morning and blood test for kidney function. Thanks for replying, it’s very reassuring.
How are you today? X
Oh that’s good. Some improvement then. Hope it’s the same tonight for you. Xxxxxx
It’s to check kidneys because of the dye they use. I asked!
Do you get results same day? X
Long time. How are you today?
Not bad thanks.
