I have just had 5 weeks ago a deroofing of a liver cyst which I was told was 5 inches and they drained off 600 mls of fluid. Unfortunately one of the incisions got infected and ended up on abx. The wound sites are still a bit tender but I am also having just under my left rib cage a on off throbbing pain (no other symptoms) which comes and goes and lasts only a minute , I know internally my insides have been messed about with a bit, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this after surgery? Thank you

Hello, sorry to hear you are still have post operative issues. Do you have an appointment coming up with your hospital team? If not, can you get in touch via the consultants secretary so that you can update the team on the situation. If you haven't already spoken to your GP about your pain it might be an idea to do so in case they want to do a blood test, organise an ultrasound for example.
Hopefully you will get a response on here from someone who has been through the same procedure.
regards
I have spoken to the Nurse Specialist and she thought nerve probs as Incisions apparently go very deep and there are a lot of nerves, she also asked questions regarding blood clot . was I breathless and was the pain all the time. She spoke with consultant who said it wasn’t to do with the surgery, the thing is it has onlyhappened since the surgery. In the end was told
to spk with my Dr who came up some suggestions what it could be but really wasn’t sure. So now just wondering if anyone else has had this procedure had this problem as I am convinced it is to do with the surgery I had.
how are you now? I am 5 months post op robotic deroofing of 8 cm liver cyst with some resection and still in some discomfort with pain tightness and some short of breath feeling on the right side. Did your symptoms resolve? If so how long did that take? Hope you are feeling well now.
