Hi just joined today, ’m 59 and looking for help to start losing weight, getting healthy and being able to enjoy a social life with new and existing friends. Before I became ill and of course the Covid struck I used to love to travel, get together with friends, go out to events. But now feel as if I’m stuck in a rut due to certain symptoms. So if anyone has any great ideas I’m here ready to listen.

Looking for inspiration to start my new healthy life style
I’ve been told I have Fibrosis on my liver but is manageable. How are you?
That’s fantastic and really encouraging, how did you manage the weight loss. I’ve so far managed to lose 19lbs in a few weeks but still got a load to shed especially round my middle which is stopping me feeling comfortable enough to socialise. Aruba sounds very exotic, have a wonderful time.
Well Angiesan, your off to a great start. You are charging yourself up with positive fibs. This is a bit like saying to yourself, "This is what's wrong, and this is what I'm going to do about it".
This is all positive stuff, but just like everything else, we have to take baby steps at first and not rush into anything.
No doubt you've seen the pictures of what the various liver disease stages are, but the good news is that even in some cases of fibrosis, the liver can regenerate it's self enough to be able to function normally. Just as long as a healthy lifestyle is maintained.
Have they actually told you what the cause of you fibrosis is? I ask this just to make sure there isn't any other medical conditions that maybe impacting upon your liver. By this I mean certain medications that you could be prescribed could prove to be rather toxic to your liver.
Once again, keep up that positive attitude.
Good luck
Richard
I do Boot Camp three times a week!!! It’s an all over workout combining resistance and cardio. Bloody hard, but good fun!!
I started good old fashion walking. I started with a small goal such as walking 10 minutes and if I felt like I had the energy I would push to see how much longer I could go. I also split it up through the day and now, most days, I can get close to 4 miles, about an hour a day! There are also days I feel great so I throw in 30 second sprints here and there. I feel great and accomplished afterwards vs sitting around. Walking is a great way to lose weight and can improve one's health overall. Good luck to you and never give up! 😊
