Hello everyone! I hope all are doing as well as possible. I don’t get on this site very often as it was difficult dealing with the thought of the possibility of losing my husband—my apologies for not keeping up. I just wanted to share a glimmer of hope. My husband got a new liver on Friday. We are in the U.S.A. We are in the hospital and he is progressing well. I was finally able to let go and let God. Whatever His will was going to be, I was ready to accept it. We had one call before Christmas and three calls this week. Number 4 was the winning liver. I think this group is great and I commend all of you in your fight for life. Keep the faith! Thank you for being there. Love and hope to all of you. 🙏🏼❤️
New life, new liver!: Hello everyone! I... - British Liver Trust
New life, new liver!
What a great start to 2020. I wish you and your family a healthy, Happy New Year.
🤗
Amazing and wonderful news Linda ! Please make sure your hubby behaves on his return home and also does NO lifting as I'm informed that this can cause many problems !
All the very best for a lovely 2020 and may it be full of happiness!

It does, it does, and maybe even after the advised 6 months.....
Thank you. I worry that my husband is straining himself lifting himself up in bed. I recently broke my back so he is protecting me and won’t let me pull him up.
May you and your be blessed in this new year!
Such great news and wish you all the very best for a speedy recovery.
The transplant team is very pleased with how well he is doing and is already working on his discharge. The surgery was Friday. Best wishes as well!
Hi Lindar1961
I'm sure the hospital won't be sending your hubby home until he's able to walk and sit up alone so I wouldn't get to stressed on this point.
Maybe Miles could explain to your hubby why it's best not to lift heavy objects as he's learnt the hard way and still suffering a year on!
I'm sorry to read that you've broken your back in the past and hope this is not causing you to much trouble now! In the meantime I hope your taking good care of yourself whilst hubby's being looked after, make sure your eating, drinking and getting some sleep to keep your energy and strength up!
Bye for now Linda
Love Trish x
Trish tbh I think Linda understands the need for caution reading her responses above. But you’re right about it nearly being a year boo hoo. But hey ho 😀. As freddy says at least we’re here! I always think when I say that it sounds trite but it’s true! 😀👍. Life is so much better now, even with a few issuettes, than it was 18 months ago - yippee 😀.
Sorry that seems a bit selfish but it isn’t meant to be - I am trying to give a positive outlook for those still awaiting being sorted 😕. 🤞🤞 for every one of us still suffering that things improve 🙏.

Thanks for sharing such good news! Best wishes for some better times for you both.
Linear, please remember this site during your husband’s recovery. He will have a competent team of medics who will be there if you need them. We will be here to encourage you on days when you may be tired or have concerns. I’m guessing there was no such help as this when your mother in law passed with NASH, but it’s here for you now in the good and the not so good times x
How refreshing! I did feel alone through this. I also know we are not done. Thank you!
Great News Linda. It's important you look after yourself too. As the accumulative stress of the pre op time will have had an impact on you. My husband had his transplant recently, a traumatic time and I felt like I'd been hit by a train afterwards. We are so greatful for this chance of life, but can I suggest you need to be kind to yourself at this time.
Look after yourself and so pleased for you and your husband.
Fantastic news and a very Happy New Year to you all! What a great start to the new year! X
Fantastic news.
I hope that your hubby's recovery goes smoothly and quickly.
Time to look after yourself now and get some much needed rest and recharge your batteries and spoil yourself whilst your husband is being looked after in hospital.
Wishing you both all the very best,
Alf
Well, I’ve been staying at the hospital so I have not rested. Thank you, I will try. Best wishes!
Blessing to all of you. May the new year bring blessings of better health and miracles of transplants to those who need them. Stay strong my friends!
Thank you, what a beautiful thing to say. I'm so pleased that your hubby has had his transplant, onwards and upwards from now on , and yes, look after you too, what a fantastic start to 2020. Have you got anyone who could help you when your hubby comes home, even if it's for a short time each day. Pm me me if you want/need to. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Great news and glad he’s doing well. A great start to 2020 for you xxx
That's Great News👍👍👍, what a start to the year!!!!😊😊😊
I hope his recovery is speedy and uneventful.
You are both in my thoughts and prayers for your new future🙏🙏🙏
David
All the best guys and look forward to a lovely bright future
Thank you for all of your comments and suggestions. My hubby is 90 days out from his transplant. He is doing well but some numbers concern the doctors. He will have a biopsy this week to see what is happening. He feels great. COVID-19 has us all worried-trying to stay home mostly. May God keep all of you safe. 💕
