I had a biopsy for probable AIH a few weeks ago. I won't get the results until I get an outpatients appointment, which I'm still waiting for. Over the last couple of months I've noticed that my urine has got darker and darker. I haven't had a blood test since July. Should I contact my GP for a liver function test or just wait until I finally hear about an outpatients appt? I'm a bit concerned.

If you haven't had blood tests since July then yes if you can get your GP to take bloods it would give an up to date picture on LFT's and also Kidney function tests. You might want to take a urine sample to doctors too.Dark urine doesn't necessarily relate to liver disease but it can and as it is so long since blood tests then yes i'd ask for some.

As AyrshireK suggests, it would seem entirely appropriate to ask the GP to repeat your blood tests, and also to chase up the biopsy results in order to reach the diagnosis.

Yes, it's certainly worth going to your gp with. Changes in symptoms like this are always worth getting checked out.
Thank you to all of you. Will contact GP.
