I don't have varices but when I got home my left lower back hurt like hell and I do have a Kidney Stone. the thing is I've just been for pee and most of it was blood ??? should I be worried. going to Docs tomorrow.... Anybody else had this happen ??

Blood in my urine
Hi,
I really cant imagine any link between an endoscopy and later having blood in the urine. If you are in the UK, I suggest you call NHS 111 who will be able to make an assessment and decide on a course of action.
They can tell you to see your doctor tomorrow, make your own way to accident and emergency / 'Walk - in - centre' or they can, if necessary send an ambulance to your home address.
I hope all goes well.
Jim
Hi Jim
Agree!
I used 111 online and, although obviously some limitations, it worked for me...

Hi Nictesla. I wish I could reassure you but I didn't have any trouble after my endoscopies. Hopefully someone will answer soon that has knowledge of this kind of problem. Regards Alf
If it was a cystoscopy you can expect blood in the urine for up to 24 hours.
Heya Nic,
Gross Hematuria (visible blood in the urine) is most usually caused by urinary tract infections or when blood is let into the kidneys. Likely by your kidney stone. Most literature does not list GI endoscopies or GI bleeds as a cause but, I will say that when I ended up in the hospital last year I had a GI bleed as well as very visible blood in the urine. I was noted as having no kidney issues or urinary tract infection and was told it could have been from the GI bleed. So according to the doctors in that hospital its possible. That being said since you didnt have a GI bleed going in, the only way that could happen is if they tore something while they were playing inside your esophagus. If you dont have blood in your stool though, id likely say its safe to deduce its probably your kidney stone and just a really bad coincedence. None the less see the doctor about it as you planned for sure! 🙂
It's just coincidence this has happened I had a few water infections where I was peeing blood, go gp and they will give you some antibiotics I hope you feel better soon
Hi all that replied to my post. Thank you for your support and comments.
I called NHS 111 and they sent a Paramedic to me and yes it was not connected to the endoscopy. It was because I had to be nil by mouth for a long time and my kidney stone was doing cartwheels for some water, I was dehydrated so nothing to worry about really. My pee is almost back to normal now, sending sample to Dr just incase. Love you guys
Great news that you are ok and well done to the forum members for their superb advice and support
