hi there so my story is a bit strange. I went on panteprazole and a week later had pain in left shoulder and breast. So severe had to go to ER 2x. Tests done all was well went on nerve meds and felt better. Ps during this time I was also taking tylenol, advil, naproxen and at one point - morphine. So it was a bit intense. Pain went away with nerve meds.

I get my blood work done and results were fine aside from high alt 125. GGT was slightly elevated (42) and ALP was fine. I like to drink but have cut down this summer significantly.

After getting the tests I started having pain on my right side. The pain travels from liver to kidney to pelvis and back around. Ive also been nauseous, had to throw up once gagged yesterday a bit - no appetite.

Anyway no more alchohol, been drinking alot of water and trying to eat veggies and Ive tried no meds but Ive needed nerve meds for the pain!

Ive also continued taking panteprazole through this entire ordeal which I will stop asap.

Anyway I am worried sick. I have blood work for hepatitis/quick retesting on thurs as well as an abdominal u/s.

Anyone had any similar situations?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have ongoing gastritis and when in hospital in June with severe pain they did a liver test and Pancreas test along with other tests and said all was fine. Saw private gastrologist last Week because I’m getting permanent pain now and he was able to log into my records. He said all blood normal apart from ALT 63. Well I haven’t touched a drop of alcohol in over a year. He too is sending me for an ultrasound of liver, gallbladder and pancreas. I drank heavy for many many years so I’m obviously concerned at what my liver might look like on the scan....

Haven’t eaten meat for a year either and don’t eat a lot of fats. Like you I’m eating very clean and extremely low fat if any at all.

It’s obvious that there wasn’t a concern over this by the experts but they don’t know what I know about my past...

I could be waiting weeks to months for my ultrasound, and like you I’m worried sick. I’m already dealing with any other horrendous illness called POTS, plus gastritis so that and this scare combined has left me in a heap.

Have read through a lot of posts on here and many with raised enzymes had an ok FibroScan and ultrasound..

Bottom line is to never touch a drop again (I know I won’t) and look after yourself to the best you can.

You too, glad to hear the doc said it’s not that high. Let me know once you have your results, I’m sure it something simple and easy to treat. Much love to you too 💖xx

Hi,

We are sorry to read that you have been feeling so unwell.

Are you in the UK? Reference ranges for blood tests vary between different laboratories so it’s important to get specific guidance from your own doctors.

We would suggest that you discuss your symptoms, medications and concerns with your GP who may be able to refer you to a liver specialist for further investigation.

Best wishes.

I am not in the UK. My doctor has said my alt levels are not that high so no cause for concern and so I called him yesterday to report the pain and he told me to wait until exam results. Thanks for your response

Hi Ditamita

I have an autoimmune disorder plus many other new health issue’s, but what we have in common is similar raised blood test results which I’ve had for a few years. My kind advice to you is to keep calm, eat healthy, exercise if possible and focused on that your going to come through whatever lies ahead. You may find if you follow my advice that your future blood tests may be lower like mine.

Hope all goes well with your forthcoming ultrasound, but in the meantime try not to stress to much

I wish you well!

Hi Trish, I didn't realise you finally got a diagnosis, I must have missed that. What did they determine in the end? Have they got you on some treatment. I'm glad they've finally diagnosed a autoimmune problem, most of those have treatments.

Take care

Wass
