Has anyone had a similar experience my lft got worse after stopping alcohol
You may have non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Start gradually losing weight while waiting for your appointment. Cut out all junk food. Start exercising e.g. walking daily.
Hello Shellee123456,
Making positive lifestyle change is important for long term liver health. Until your appointment may I suggest you continue with your abstinence , have a healthy balanced diet and increase your exercise.
Many things can cause a fluctuation in blood tests, and once you see your GP , they should plan for monitoring and investigation to reach diagnosis.
Take care,

Hi, I stopped over a year ago and in June my AST was 63 everything else normal. Now I’m flapping because I used to be a heavy drinker for many years. I had a blood test a few months before and they said normal apart from vit d deficient so I’m calling tomorrow to see what my ast was on that test. Seems doctors are not concerned about this but I know my past.
How are you getting on?
