I had diarrhoea in the day time, then it stopped around 3pm. I had my tea and went to bed. Woke up at 1:30am in excruciating pains, my right side shooting up to my right shoulder. I couldnt sit up and could barely talk. The ambulance came and took my Obs and everything seemed normal. They wanted me to contact my GP for another ECG as it said Abnormal. I rang my doctor the following morning but he refused to do another ECG.
I developed a tight feeling in my right side which is still there now. Its a very tight uncomfortable feeling but not pain. I went to the Walk in centre and had another ECG and did a urine sample. Plus I had a physical examination of my stomach. They were happy with everything but wanted another ECG doing at the hospital as it said abnormal again.
I went to the AEC had blood tests done and everything came back normal and my ECG got looked over and everything was normal . I had a chest xray and another physical examination of my stomach and they were happy that everything felt and seemed normal.
Just had a call from another doctor and he had looked over my results and said everything is perfectly normal. No one is giving me answers, I don't feel reassured. Why do I STILL have this uncomfortable tight feeling in my right side. I feel off my food and have barely eaten.
Im fed up of worrying ive spoken to so many different people and no one is giving me answers of what the excruciating pain was on Monday night or what this feeling ive been left with is. I'm drained. I'm so fed up.

Wow , all that pain and everything coming back as normal.
Don't make sense. You don't get excruciating pain for nothing.
I'm not a Doctor ,but have you had an Ultrasound or an MRI.
They might have given you a Physical examination, but they haven't got XRAY eyes. They can't tell what's going on inside your body. You can't enjoy life if you are in pain all the time.
Push for An Ultrasound. That might show up something that a Physical examination can't.
Some of the pain that you're been describing is what the pains are like that I have.I also get pain at the back of my right shoulder. When I told my Gastroenterolgist about the pain in my right shoulder, he said "Yes when you have a Gallbladder problem , it does cause pain in your right shoulder .I'm going in hospital 2 weeks today to have my Gallbladder and Gallstones removed. I've also got Blocked Bile Ducts which they are going to sort out for me. The Blocked Bile Ducts don't always show up on either of the Scans.
Mine showed up to be Dilated.
I was in hospital for a suspected Stroke
when they found all this out .But I told them it was a bad Fibromyalgia, flairup. It was only because of when I went to get off the bed ,the one Doctor heard me groan. He asked me what was wrong and I told him that I was having terrible pains in the right side of my stomach and my right shoulder.
That afternoon I had an Ultrasound.
The Consultant came to see me and told me that I have a Sludgy Gallbladder, Blocked Bile Ducts , cyst on the Kidney and a cyst on the Pancreas.
They thought that I had Pancreatic Cancer,so the next day I had an MRI with a Contrast Dye.I had a CT scan.
From. there I had an MRCP scan.
They found that I had the Sludgy Gallbladder ,Gallstones ,Cyst on the Pancreas,Blocked Bile Ducts,Cysts on the inside and the outside of my Liver and a cyst on the Kidney. Also a 16 cm Haitus Hernia. You can't tell all that from a Physical examination. .
Tell your GP that you are not happy about their findings and you want a more in depth examination.
Hope this helps you and I hope that they can help you real soon. 🤞
I know that there's nothing worse than living with unbearable pain. x
I had all kinds of issues with ruq pain. Extremely severe many times. All my tests should great, until they did a hida scan. My gallbladder was failing and that’s the only test that showed it. If you’re still in pain, that might be a good one to ask for to rule out anything
Brilliant posts - a person does not manufacture pain and we know our own bodies - a friend of mine was in pain all the time and went to various doctors who all told him nothing was wrong - he was then one night taken by ambulance to hospital and kept in overnight and a young Chinese doctor came to look him over next day and within 5 mins said yes there is something wrong and that he knew what it was!!!!! Treatment was started and was successful. Trust your instinct - if you are in pain - don't be fobbed off. Hida scan sounds good.
