Very concerned I have diarrhoea and have autoimmune hepatitis, it’s just started again, after catching a stomach bug on the 4/5 March, I’m so frightened it could be the start of covid19 as I recently read it can start like this, I haven’t had sore throat cough or temp, but I’ve had snuffly nose for over 2 weeks no other symptoms I have been self isolating for 4 days
Could this be Covid19: Very concerned I... - British Liver Trust
Could this be Covid19
Hi Ruby.
There are a lot of unpleasant viruses and colds and flu about at this time of year and it's very easy to think with all the talk of Coronavirus going on at the moment that any ache, pain or sniffle could be it.
My wife 3 days ago had a day of diarrhoea and backache, headache and sore throat and she was thinking that it could possibly the start of Coronavirus but she is fine again now .
So I would say stay warm and rested and well hydrated.
If you were to develop a temperature and/or a persistent dry cough then I think that is the time to worry and contact someone.
Hope that you feel much better soon.
Alf
You are right Alf. I’m not really a worrier but I think as you say there is so much talk about this virus and when you notice it says on internet that diarrhoea could be a early sign of it, sometimes your mind can go into overdrive, but yes if I was to develop dry cough , Sore throat etc then I would contact someone
Hi Ruby
Sorry to read your not well, but like Alf stated there are other various bugs and viruses going around ! My advice is not to panic and try to rest, keep warm and drink plenty of fluids
My son plus quiet a few of his employees as well as a few of our friends are also unwell with a variety of illiness who are all in isolation as a precaution only . It doesnt mean everyone has the virus so please do like my friends and family are advising and stay calm and try your best to sleep.
Nighty nite
With loads of love

Thanks Trish x
Hi Ruby. If you read the symptoms of covid19 on the NHS website, which is the only reliable source, there is no mention of diarrhoea. But if thousands of people have been reading the same as you, it explains why there's no flippin' loo roll in the shops !! Thank god for kitchen roll and a sharp knife!!
Look after yourself .
Take care everybody and remember
Stay at home MEANS stay at home

Please see link below to the British Liver Trust information regarding COVID-19 and it has relevant links to NHS and government documents.

This will be updated as regularly as possible and is a good source of reliable information.
For specific information regarding your own condition, I would suggest you contact your own medical team.
Take care and very best wishes.
Thankyou so much
Hi Laura, well I don’t know what other people are reading. And I’m certainly not stockpiling anything myself, I’ve also been keeping in 24/7 and intend to, I’m pleased to see there’s no mention of diarrhoea, hoping whatever this is writes itself soon, take care too
You are definately doing the right thing by staying home and hope you feel better soon. xx
We are in this for the long haul l fear while many companies are remaining open when they are anything but essential. This is putting many more people who are working for the NHS at huge risk.
We MUST look after the NHS who else is going to look after us ?
I totally agree, I’m so cross with these people that think it’s ok to go here there and everywhere, and just thinking of themselves, so true we NEED the NHS
