Hi

I am new - why does it feel like my sternum is poking into my Liver when I bend forward.

Why have I lost 2 stone in weight in 6 months

Why do I itch so much and feel so cold in my hands

I need answers, and for a change some sympathy if someone is out there

Hi

I'm so sorry you are feeling so rotten. Please make an appointment with your GP. Your liver could be enlarged but you won't know unless your GP refers you. Please let me know how you get on. Please take care of yourself Lynne

Hi Lynne

I saw a Consultant this morning,

Im really feeling poorly as this has gone on since May. Was an urgent case that got put back so much now they are saying I may have an MRCP (mentioned blocked Bile duct in passing) which I dread as its not available under GA. Its as if the pain won't go and flares up, no energy as well as suffering from Chronic fatigue I feel so helpless and needed to chat as the family must be fed up by now. Thanks for replying

Hi

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I'm sure your family would want you to talk to them. What is your consultant going to do about this mrcp. Please take care of yourself Lynne

An MRCP is an MRI scan which focuses on looking at the bile ducts and therefore it is not necessary to have any anaesthetic for this procedure. There are no needles or injections to worry about. I am claustrophobic, but had to have one of these and after talking to my GP about it, he has MRIs regularly, I found a way to deal with it. I know they are not everyone's favourite procedure, but talk to your GP or Consultant about your concerns and I am sure at least one of them will provide you with some coping mechanisms. Some places allow you to listen to music to drown out the noise from the magnets, so this may be a possibility also.

I'm afraid I can't answer the other questions. I have cold hands a lot at the moment and try to wear gloves outside or keep my hands warmed up by rubbing them together.

Sorry I can't be more help. All the very best with your other questions and getting this resolved.

Your family fed up? Why? I hear you I have liver issues and unable to get help I need.

Hi and welcome,

Have you been diagnosed with a liver condition? We are sorry to read that you feel unwell.

Unfortunately, no one on the forum is medically qualified to advise you. Can you see your GP for a physical assessment?

Hi

They believe that a Bile duct is blocked and I have terrible itching and severe pain in that area which is not the gall bladder as it has been removed. Im just fed up as its been going on since May and Ive been scanned everywhere basically. No one is really, or seems to be bothered, the A&E said it was Gastro Enteritis and the pain would go away with 24 hours... 8 months later...no faith in the NHS...

Are you under the care of a gastroenterologist or hepatologist? If you have a potential blocked bile duct you should be under specialised care. Could you see your GP to discuss ASAP?

How did you lose weight? I've been trying but no luck. Asked to come off Urso and now have had the trots in 'yellow' for months. Asked Dr over phone if I should go back on Urso but no reply yet. No weight loss with all the running. Hopeless.
