I have has Cirrhosis since dec 2017 and suffered with many up's and downs, this site has been a great help but one thing I have noticed is that I have never actually met anyone in person. it would be great to put a few voices to the names and share experiences etc, so we have any meets as such, I am based in Cheshire so pretty central

That's a good idea Chris, but with undiagnosed HE,I wouldn't feel Ok to drive that far, but thanks for the thought.

Hi vadid

I don’t get how you can have undiagnosed HE. I never got diagnosed per se. You either have it or you don’t, surely? Have you ever been hospitalised with it or is it just low level brain fog? Oh and I don’t mean “just” because any level of HE is not “just”!! - I know ☹️.

Miles, I have had a few very worrying episodes, which, when relayed to my consultant, were ignored by him. I have never been hospitalised, but might have been if the car that screeched to a halt in front of me, had hit me while I stood in the middle of the road, not knowing where I was. I have never been tested for HE as far as I am aware, unless you mean ammonia levels in blood tests.

Hey up vadid

I remember now your story about the middle of the road. That does sound nasty and HE could be a reason for it but, I expect there could be other reasons for it. I am not a doctor, as you know 😁, so can’t say...

However it’s a shame your Consultant seems to have ignored you on this point. In truth I had a problem which seemed to me to be ignored by three different Consultants and was picked up in a two minute test by “my” GP when I told him later on of the problem. However that was a physical problem, not a mental one, which I guess is harder to determine, but which certainly shouldn’t be ignored. I have to say though that mine was only picked up when I ended up in Hospital. I had had no symptoms or problems until just woke up one morning completely out of it, brushing my teeth with shaving foam - seriously- and trying to put my shirt on my legs ☹️. That soon made my wife get me to the doctors who sent me straight to the Hospital.HE is seriously bad stuff - not the humorous situation I thought it was when I had it a few times at the start - and mustn’t be ignored.

Go and cause a fuss or get someone to go with you to cause a fuss to get it reviewed.

Good luck David
