Well you may have noticed in numerous threads of mine that I hate the word DIET as to me it means pressure!,
Since late 2017 I've been on a healthy eating plan as my weight shot upto 13.7 which was bad for my height of 5.4!
As most of you know I'm being monitored for none alcoholic PBC which was brought to my after routine blood tests last july.
My consultant and GP recommended a healthly life style! I had to give up all the foods I love and adore, Cream , lots of cheeses , butter, etc, no fatty foods in other words ππππ to improve my liver and bloods! Well, I gave up making my naughty ginger and chocolate cheesecake which was full of double cream topped with chocolate and strawberries!πππ(yummy) I gave you making my extremly naughty rich chocolate mousse and stopped buying numerous cheeses every week! πππ. You guessed it my hobby is cooking! ππi 'm soon looking to set up a small cookery class to teach healthy eating alongside my other business at the age of 67 which I'm to be on Monday!π€£π€£π€£
Well since last July I've been eating healthy and exercising! My various pains around my Liver and kidneys have gone, and so far I've gone from 13.7 to 10 stone 10lbs (size 16 to a 12) with more to.looseππ I'm now praying that my recently blood tests will have improved and highlight my fight to become healthier has worked.
My healthy eating consists of grilled bacon with all fat removed, chicken cooked various ways, salmon plus other fish, lots of eggs, milk, 1oz of cheese now and then, actimel , salad, fruit , nuts, avocado, lean cold meats for nibbling on plus my treat of an Aldi mini chilli chocolate bar whenever the craving takes me plus one slice of toasted multi gran bread daily. Pasta , rice and potato's I hardly ever eat now as I gain weight almost immediately!
For those looking to improve your Liver by eating healthy, maybe my information above might help! Don't use the 'D' Word ! Just change your life style to HEATHLY EATING (HE) as you'll gain more energy and feel much happier in yourself plus your LIVER will be doing the Highland Fling with happiness !ππΊ
Don't forget to drink more water or tonic too!
I will update you Monday if my bloods have improved !!!
Love Rock Chick who.loves you all β€ HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND
Hi Trish (Rock Chick), great post, but where can I buy a tin of willpowerπ€£π€£π€£ Love the idea of chilli chocolate....Yum,Yumπππ. Just be careful not to eat too much Birthday cake on Monday πππ. I will try some of your idea's, but pasta is one of my loves πππSeriously, Trish , Happy birthday for Monday, and have a great day, and have a tonic on me.
The dark chilli chocolate from Aldi which I have straight from the fridge is lovely ! Its healthy to in small bars! It's been proven that eating dark chocolate improves your thinking powers π€£π€£π€£! I think I'd need to eat the box of bars daily to achieve any improvement but I wont! π£π£.
Thank you so much for my early birthday wishes which really do.mean alot me! 'Seriously, all birthday wishes are lovely to one who's sentimental, sloppy and a romantic at heart '
Guess what, the naughty side of me has already opened up early received birthday cards as I like to look at them longer πππ My hubby thinks I'm a bad girl, however I've not opened presents yet HE! HE!
Thatβs amazing! And hereβs to healthy eating. Diet simply means what we eat but over the years has been totally focused on loosing weight alone. I hope your results Monday are positive. Inspiring, thank you, Samantha
Well done on your healthy eating - I hope it makes a positive difference to your blood tests. Happy birthday for Monday - all the best people have their birthday on 1st July - it's mine too. And we shared it with Princess Diana π
Now that you mention Keto' I did start to wonder if my healthy eating plan was similar after seeing numerous food ads on Facebook daily with similar recipes to mine! I must say I do enjoy this type of food!
Thank you for your lovely reply and the low carb link too ! Hope to hear from.you again !
You had me at chocolate, ginger cheesecake π€£ (I dribbled and itβs breakfast time!).
Well done for making all those changes. My habits have also changed a lot - when I was drinking I didnβt have much interest in food, then when I got sick I couldnβt eat at all - a sip of water would come back up, then the nutritionist told me to eat anything high calorie (I could lose 5kgs a night just by sleeping - well my body eating its muscles for energy) and I got into some terrible habits - namely cake.....I ate a lot of cake π¬
Suddenly a year on I couldnβt eat what I wanted without thinking about it but I got so used to it that disciplining myself was quite tough. Pre-liver disease I was always big and it was unhealthy so thank you for this massively inspiring post and well done ππΌ- Iβll be taking a leaf out of your book - once I can get the chocolate, ginger cheesecake out of my head π€£π€£π€£
Thanks for sharing your struggle to try and get slim which I truely understand especially with cooking being a hobby of mine plus I love and adore to entertain or just a girlie friends around for a laugh which everyone of us reading this note needs LAUGHTER of any kind in there lives! Even a smile to or from someone can make us feel happy inside! Happiness is another key word to fighting excess weight and having something to focus on helps! I do occasionally make the cheesecake when we have visitors as its always a request! Naughty me will have a 2 inch squares my treat! π€£π€£.
Why dont you try this out! Pin some photos around your kitchen of yourself or of someone who inspires you! Write on a huge piece of paper something youd like to do and stick that up so you look at it daily. Buy yourself a smaller sized outfit or if you already have one hang it up on the kitchen door! I did all of these silly stupid things but it WORKED for me!,πππ
Please keep me updated on your progress to joining me on the healthy eating as I still have loads to loose!
My hubby loves my new figure and the dress I wore last night which numerous people commented onπ. This was one of 2 dressers hung in my kitchen for months on endπ€£π€£π€£.
Ah thanks Trish. Iβm still on the right side of ok, I suppose after a year of desperately trying to put weight on (for the first time in my life!!!!) I got used to not having to watch everything but since I got better itβs going on a bit too easily!! I liked all of your suggestions - the way youβre now eating and also sticking a few photos up!
Itβs also good to remember that despite all the other things we now have to worry about with liver disease - we can still worry about the same things as everyone else - as weird as that sounds!!!
Iβll keep you posted πππ
Today I walked around the garden at the house Iβm looking after (dog sitting!) and picked lettuce, cherry tomatoes, mint and basil for a lovely salad π₯ (with feta and tsatziki!) - something lovely about picking your own lunch!! Wish I had a garden like this one ππ
Hi Trishi I am also changing my diet to improve my liver but the plain chocolate I find disgusting 90 percent cocoa I found another chocolate from the coop only 68 percent cocoa with a hint of fruit will this have the same impact thanks
Yes if course as long as it's dark chocolate and you only eat small amounts as a treat ! I like mine from the fridge, broken up and added to a low far fruity yoghurt, or I break into tiny pieces and slowly suck the chocolate until it's all gone whilst watching the tv!it makes you feel like you've been naughty which you haven't but also.like you've eaten a large bar of chocloateπππ.
Good lucky with the healthy eating to improve your health! πDon't think of it ever being a D !!!! I hate and dislike that word !!!!!!
Take your time and enjoy your healthy eating ! It works ! π€£π€£π€£.
