Hi all,

Do any of you guys drink electrolyte drinks to support hydration, sugar free of course!

Unless you're an athlete, electrolyte drinks are a waste of money. Plain water does the job just fine.

Thats really useful, thank you.

Hi Poobear, I, like so many people started drinking sugar free drinks once I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have been doing this since 2014. One thing I have discovered is that these drinks do increase your cravings for things sugar. I'm presently going through a Turkish Delight phase in the evenings. I suppose it's a bit like going and having a Big Mac with all the trimmings and then having a diet coke: healthcentral.com/article/d...

HiSparkling

water or black coffee for me unless we go out for coffee then I treat myself to one of the special coffees!! Take care Lynne

I'm a Black Coffee addict too. I drink gallons of the stuff and use silver spoon sweetner's. I find they don't leave that after taste. I've just got to do something to treat me Turkish Delight addiction.

You with the turkish delight addiction and me with the oreos. I think we'd be in more trouble in choclate bar factory Richard than we'd ever be at a brewery these days haha!

Hi poo

No, not me. Minimum 2.5 litres of water or very similar, a day.

Hi, I drink lots of bottles of still, fruit flavoured water as I know that if it was down to tap water then I probably wouldn't drink as much. I buy the half litre size in packs of 4 because they are a handy size with pop up tops. Very reasonable price at about 80p - £1 for a four pack at Home Bargains and Farm Foods. I probably drink about 5 packs a week + tea and coffee etc. All the best. Alf

Have you tried Costco, their water is really cheap. Take care Lynne

Hi Poobear69,

Sorry, hubby drinks diet soda and non-alcoholic beer.

He pretty much does the same as he did before his liver failure and diagnosis only his drinks are non-alcoholic :-).

Best wishes,

Mary

I was told by my liver specialist to avoid supplements because they aren’t regulated and avoid processed foods. I try to stick with everything in its natural form, the way nature intended. I apply that concept to beverages as well. So no, I don’t believe that’s needed. I drink water, San Pellegrino, coffee black or with only cream and espresso. Nothing else except maybe club soda at a bar, since no alcohol.

You might making your own helps ,apple cider vinegar 1tbs or a little less ,pinch of cream tarter ,a quick grind of pink salt and for bonus a pinch of cinnamon, there you have your perfect hydration drink ,drink warm or cold with a straw ,you can also add fresh or ground ginger
