On top of Cirrhosis comes a diagnosis of myeloma cancer! Just got in my good spirit of coping with the Cirrhosis itself.

I kept having a drop in my platelet count so my primary care Dr sent me to oncologist ! He recommended a bone marrow biopsy , results came back with high monocytes I believe, then at follow up appointment he told me. He told me the cancer used to be untreatable! There's no cure but it can be managed with treatment for a long time depending on the individuals reaction to treatment

So pleased to hear it’s treatable. I know how you feel when you think you have conquered something and then find out your knocked down by something else. I thought I had my liver on the mend and had stopped beating myself up that it was self inflicted when I had a heart attack end of February this year and an emergency angiogram and stent fitted. I now think things come in threes so I am paranoid now I must have something else lurking in me. I really hope you can stay positive and keep healthy and live your life to the full now. I am sure you will be well looked after. xxx

I’m so sorry - life can be sh*** sometimes. But you found a way to cope with liver disease and you’ll find a way to cope with this. Take a deep breath, have a little cry then dig deep and keep going. There are lots of people here to lean on

It’s treatable these days and it may even go into remission for many years!
