Hey there. So i’ve only just realised that my records say I have a perforated Gallbladder. I didn't realise this and thought my Doctor said it hadn’t perforated. (I blame my ADHD)
Anyway. Is it normal procedure to be on a 18 week waiting list surgery?
I had read that Perforation is quite serious. I’m in pain most of the time, though my latest blood work is looking good.
Apologies if not the right community to post in.

I'm not sure how long the maximum optimal wait should be; I'd suggest that the length of the weight is due to pressure on waiting lists.I'd speak to the doctor to establish if this is a long wait and if there any adverse signs you should keep an eye out for. I'd also ask if there is a cancellation list and if so ask to be put on it.

I would certainly double check immediately with the doctor as to whether the doctor is correct (not perforated) or the notes are correct (perforated). I would not personally be at all happy with the prospect of an 18 week wait to deal with a perforation. Everything I have read about gallbladders (mine was removed a couple of years ago) suggests that perforation would normally require emergency surgery. If the doctor has misunderstood the situation or misread something then it would be as well to clarify.
Hey again. I have been to the Doctors and they didn't seem concerned about the perforation. Mind you. I have utterly terrible for almost a week now and they haven't been concerned with any of it. Just take painkillers they said.
