Jaycee has asked me to pass on her thanks to you all for the wonderful support, prayers and best wishes you have showered her with.
She has been trying to log on to this site from her hospital bed, but sadly she keeps on losing the wifi signal, which I understand is notoriously bad at the Royal Free.
She is just waiting for her jaundice to settle down a little now that they have increased her anti-rejection medication. The other issue she now has is that this increased medication is causing her sugar levels to rise. I have explained to her this morning that the medications used to prevent rejection can alter the way hepatocytes handle sugars within the liver, and drive overproduction and release of glucose into the blood. This will have to be monitored before they allow her home.
She still remains in good spirits, and has given me permission to post up this picture of her. She hopes it may inspire, and give hope to others.
Are you kidding, she taught Mary Berry how to make cakes and donuts, she's a chocoholic. She does make a lot of her own cakes and stuff though. and yes it's safe to say she does have a sweet tooth.
Brilliant news!! So pleased to see that she has battled through the bigger issues. Well done Jaycee. May you go from strength to strength and hopefully be home before too long. Huge best wishes. Alf
What a wonderful smiley photo! Thanks for the update Richard - I've been thinking of Jaycee & it seems like she is slowly but surely conquering these obstacles with her trademark chirpyness - great to see!
Fantastic, now I have a face to my friend at long last. So happy it’s all coming together, doesn’t matter how long it takes, from rebirth, time is on her side!
