Vericeal banding. Hi ! I had banding done 5 days ago due to acute bleeding. Hospital stay was 5 days. I did not get a transfusion. I had black tar stools that all came out but now when I have diarrhea, it is bright red bloody, not black tat. My stomach is still very bloated and uncomfortable due to the fluids they pumped inside of me through IV. I burp quite a bit too. How long should these symptoms be expected?

You should go back to hospital that's not normal x
I agree with Jo Jo, if you are passing red blood then you still have an active bleed somewhere in your system and should go back to hospital quickly.

You definitely should could go to the hospital. Blood in stool is not okay and is urgent!
Hello Sugarmagnoliazme,
From your symptoms you should seek immediate medical support who will be able advise on what steps to take.
If you are in the UK you can contact NHS 111 or the emergency services on 999, if necessary they can provide emergency medical aid.

Hopefully your in hospital by now.
Your symptoms are life threatening complications and not side effects of banding or IV treatment.
