Hey everyone, im 36 years old and just after giving birth to my baby I started using Depo provera as a form of contraception. Ever since I have noticed problems in my lower bowel after my third Jab (postnatal) and can feel all sorts of stirring movement going on down there. Especially my newly intolerances to certain foods such as spice and lots of spinach! lower bowel tender to touch but eases after few days. I just find it odd how as soon as I started taking the Depo my bloods - liver results have elivated and sightly outside of the normal range as well as the symptoms described above. Will be going in on Tueday to discuss with my GP the results. Has anyone else expereinced this since having a baby, and taking Depo provera?

Hi! Depo Provera is a great contraceptive but it does have a few side effects which may explain your problems. mayoclinic.org/tests-proced...

I am not so sure however about the raise in liver enzyme results, but I have cirrhosis and my consultant has said I am not to use it-despite using it previously. Your Gp obviously is the best person to advise you.

Good luck
